Pee-CON. And Ant instead of ont. and carrrrrrrrrrrrrrr instead of cah.

As chef Emeril Lagasse always said, it is called a pee-con. A pee-can is what a truck driver has in his cab.

pee can [like tin can] As I remember it where I was raised if you knew a pecan was a nut you were considered worldly at least when it came to food. But if you also pronounced it pee con you were just rubbing our nose in it.

Pee - Cannes (the city in France), accent on the second syllable.
When I moved to the mid-atlantic east coast after growing up in NM (there are pecan orchards near Roswell) an uncle explained to me his dining room table was Pee - can, accent on the pee. I told him I had never heard of that wood. Then later he ordered Pee - can pie at a restaurant, accent on first syllable. I finally figured out his table was from the same tree as the nut.
