I'm sure many of you have done this. I want to mount a 42" tv that weighs in at about 40 lbs on my lanai. It's stucco over block. What would be the best way to do this?
Thanks,
John V.

The TV mounts include bolts for mounting on all kinds of surfaces, including concrete blocks. We got wall mount from Best Buy.
Or you could have Tom from Village Audio Video do it for you, he does great work.

I would check with Tom from Village Audio. When you consider the quality of his work and his very reasonable rates, why do it yourself?

I have 2x2's between the stucco & the concrete block.
Make sure you get into the concrete block.
I just got longer anchor bolts from Lowe's than I orginally planned. Have a 52 inch mounted.

Bypass Best Buy and try Monoprice, the prices are about a third of BB and the selection is much much better. They all come out of China, so why pay the extra markup of BB.

Four of these Tapcon bolts at Lowes will hold almost any TV made.

I've been using Monoprice for 12 years now, great company, great prices.

I vote for Tom. He even got online and told us his favorite tv to buy then let us buy it from Amazon. He installed it up in a corner that would not likely get wet, then told us not to cover it because it would get moldy. It was great. Two screws to take it off its mount and bring it inside during the two hurricanes.

I have a 70" TV on my lanai. Bought the mount on Amazon, drilled right into the blocks and used the blue screws that thread themselves into the block. Been there 3 years and I haven't taken it down for any reason. Still works awesome.

Can I assume you brought it in during Irma?

Curious what the tv was.Special for outdoor use or not?
BestBuy sells an outdoor tv line that seems to be 4x the cost of an "indoor" tv. Was curious if an outdoor model was needed in a lanai.

At 4x the cost, sounds like you could loose a few to the weather and still be ahead buying the indoor ones....

No, I left it out during the hurricane, but my lanai is pretty sheltered.
