Looks like what was to good to true....is. MoviePass has announced that beginning August 15th, subscribers will only be able to see 3 movies Per month!

They are also suspended some of the other recent changes, like peak pricing and not letting you see new blockbusters for the first 2 weeks. Also announces was that the price would remain at $9.99 a month. Is it still worth that to you? Basically 3 movies a month for he price of one.

Another bad sign "The stock plunged from $39 last October to just 8 cents last month. The company approved a reverse split — a cosmetic change that boosted the stock 250-fold, back up to $21. Since then it's fallen all the way back to 7 cents."

Three for the price of one still seems like a pretty good deal. So, yes, I will likely keep it.

From what I read, if you have an annual pass you are good until it runs out with as many movies as you want at one a day.

According to their email, Movie Pass will still be restricting veiwings of new releases, as needed. Apparently, this will not apply to e ticket purchases, only the walk-up kind.

From the email, I got the impression that it's only a matter of time.

I had the monthly pass, cancelled it a couple days ago.

The hand writing is on the wall for this company.

A re-structure to hopefully keep the company solvent. 3 Movies per month and a $5.00 discount for the rest, $8.50 less $5.00=$3.50. Still don’t believe there is a better deal oit there for 3+ movies per month.

Obviously, you're one of them........lol

I was thinking, what about the people who are out late drinking at the bars......that would make for an interesting crowd at the theater.

Some very hot night nurses are up at that time.

They are working though.

back on topic... I'm a spoilsport.

Went to Rialto to see MamaMia II yesterday - got there at 11:15 for the 11:35 showing- onto MP app and ALL MM/Rialto showings gone except for the 4:45pm and later. $%#@!!

Told the group to book the 4:45pm, get ticket, and hopefully the usher will not check the time on the stub...

At window and told the lady Mama Mia please, gave her the MP debit card, she asked which time...and I said 'is the 11:35 available?'... She checked and said, all set gave the 11:35 tics. Rest of group, same. BTW MM was quite good and I thought actually better than the first MM.

So..... apparently even if you arrange a tic for a particular movie thru MP on the app, the MP debit card simply charges $$ onto the card and does not limit a purchase for an earlier showing that is not showing on the app... anyone else see that too?

I'm sorry. I am not following--is your card being charged? Are you paying $10?

It amazes me that people would go to a movie @11PM.

On MP annual plan thru Jan '19. So, no monthly charge --- and per latest MP email, will be grandfathered with no new limitations until renewal.

My posting was that (apparently) a MP member may be able to "check in" to a later movie showing but still be able to get the ticket for an earlier showing that many be blacked out on the MP app. The 'charge' I mentioned in prior posting is that MP app 'charges/applies $$$' to your MP debit card in order to pay the theater box office when getting the ticket.

Still a good deal. Went last night and saw Spy that dumped me.
Previous deal was unsustainable but got a lot of people to see a lot of movies.
So the theaters, the viewers and the movie producers won big time. Only loser was MoviePass.
Basically you get 2 free movies a month.
Hmm. Easy math saves you $20.00 a month per person.
Almost a $500.00 annual savings for 2.

Take it one step further. MP gives you a $5 discount on more movies once you pass 3/month. So, if you go Fri and Sat night at 11pm for $6 the yearly costs for 1 would be $104+$120 and you would see 104 + 36 = 140 movies for $144. 240/140 = less then $2 movie Unless I'm wrong.

I just canceled our account, had to pay twice MoviePass was down! It’s a joke saying you need to take pictures of your stubs or they charge your credit card for the tickets.

Strange. I haven't yet been asked to submit any stub photos. Latest was a couple days ago. How often do you use MP? Reading online it seems to be a "random selection based on factors of their choosing." Do you go very often?

Moviepass is in big trouble. The model they thought would work, just hasn't and they are taking huge losses. Don't expect them to be around much longer, enjoy it now.
