Is is safe to store luggage in garage attic? If you do, do
you wrap it in plastic bag first? If not, where do you store yours?

We originally stored ours (for a very short time) on shelves in the garage. But was told since the garage has no air conditioning (same for the attic), it could mold.
So we had extra shelves added at the top of our M/bedroom closet and store ours there. It's out of the way and easy to get to when we need it.

We have been storing our luggage in the attic for the past ten years and have had no problems at all.

Don't the attics in TV have vents which allow air to flow through from one end to the other? We have stored luggage in the attic in all our homes...south Florida for 24 years and now New Jersey for the past 10 years. We've had no problem with mold with anything we store in the attic.

Even in the frigid Mid Atlantic, one of the first things we do when we get a home is add vents to the attic, wind-driven turbines in the barn and thermostat-actuated power fans in the home.

Most every TV home we have visited, ours, has a garage that is so hot we feel like going into a sauna to cool off!

The attic above the garage is hotter.

We use the AC at night if needed to bring it to 82 in the summer or heat in the winter to bring it to 60, so the HVAC systems do not see much action.

We still get hot garage and we keep the windows open.

Anyone know if there are any serious downsides to;
1.adding attic vents above the garage?
2.installing louvers (or leaving the stairs pulled down like we do here up north) and cracking garage windows for air to come in?

I've been in Florida 15 years and always stored my luggage in the attic with no problems.

Those of you who do store luggage in attic, do you wrap it
in a big plastic trash bag first or just store it as is.
My concerns are bugs. Never even thought about mold.....

Luggage is one thing. Florida attics are not kind to electronic equipment. Old radios, stereo receivers, televisions. Anything like that. The extreme heat can dry out the components and render them useless.
