Legit? Or raising the price of stock with rumors by Musk to burn those shorting the stock??? Would not want to be holding a high dollar put with close expiration date.

I imagine the high-dollar shorts are consulting their high-dollar attorneys. Then there's the SEC. The former SEC lawyer interviewed on Varney did not paint a pretty scenario.

It would be entertaining to see who would loan him money to take it private. He is so full of hot air and BS.
Promises and not delivering.

I see this matter either running out of gas or a full charge to the end. So, it's either end of the road for shareholders or express lane for Tesla and employees. But the Feds may put the brakes on the entire thing.

Musk said today that Tesla will not borrow money to go private.
Update on Taking Tesla Private | Tesla (https://www.tesla.com/blog/update-taking-tesla-private?redirect=no)
He has talked to the major holders of the stock, about 70% of the outstanding shares, and most said they will move to the private company so there would be no need to purchase their shares.
He said the remaining 30%, small investors, would have the option of doing the same thing and he expected most would. There is a big question whether or not that is legal though because most of them are not "accredited investors".
He implied the Saudi's would buy any of the stock of any current investors who didn't join the private company.
Of course none of that insures that it will actually happen...

He would have to get all insiders (25%), all top 10 Institutions (40%) and most top 10 Mutual Funds (12%). They would have significantly less protection without being Public.

Yes, but Musk's claim is that he already talked to those and most have agreed to going private. Some funds are not allowed to invest in a private company so those would drop out.
And the Saudi's would foot the bill for those who dropped out.
Musk also claims he has talked to other big investors who are also interested in investing in a private Tesla.
If what he is claiming isn't true he probably will be in big trouble with the SEC.
Even if all this is true it doesn't guarantee that private will happen and even if it does it doesn't guarantee Tesla will a success.
