My wife and I were scheduled to have cataract surgery here in TV. Villages Taxi was notified the day before and pre-paid to pick us up at 8:00 for delivery for surgery scheduled at 8:20 and 8:30, respectively. 8:10 and no taxi. Fortunately, neighbors walking by our house took us to their home, picked up their car, and drove us to the doctor; we arrived 10 minutes late and passed the Villages Taxi going the other way on our way to the doctor. We spoke with the taxi driver on the return trip after having cataract surgery. He said, "Jason, our dispatcher, dispatched a taxi for us this morning at 7:57." Since their cabs operate from Leesburg to Belleview, it's not surprising they didn't arrive on time. Not only were we delayed for surgery, but every patient who followed us on the cataract schedule was also delayed. Just a cautionary tale.
