I have spent some time at Sea Pines and encountered a few alligators there. This was back in the 1980s. It was a beautiful place and contained a lot of wildlife, or at least it did back then. From the article the woman lived there.

I've been there a couple of times and fortunately did not see any gators. Will have to be cautious from now on. :l

Wow. It was the woman who was attacked by the alligator, according to the link provided. That's pretty scary. I'm astounded that the news report said the dog was not injured but gave no report on the woman's condition!
