I thought this might be helpful to others in a similar situation. We bought a new courtyard villa in June 2017 and since then we have been back and forth between the Villages and RI. At some point we noticed that there was some sort of film between the glass on our microwave door. Between getting new furniture, countertops, tile floor and warranty issues we never addressed the microwave problem as soon as we should have. We mentioned it to Frank at our yearly inspection but he said that appliance problems have to go through Whirlpool. He said if you are persistent you might be able to get it fixed. I then called Whirlpool but was told that this was a cosmetic problem that needed to be addressed during the first 30 days of ownership. Shortly thereafter Fields Appliances repaired our stove and I asked about the microwave. He said the haziness between the glass is common and is usually not fixed. I then got an email address online for Whirlpool and described the problem and our situation in detail. I said we were part time Villagers and weren’t in the Villages for that first month. A couple weeks later they replied that they needed a copy of my closing statement. I scanned it and sent it to them and a week or so later they called to schedule Fields for the service to replace my microwave door. Sometimes persistence is the key.
