I read an article this morning that cancer rates have increased in the U.S greatly in the past few years. On Memorial Day weekend I lost my only living brother (three years younger than me) to stage four cancer. Very hard to take. Two weeks later I lost one of my closest HS friends to the same. Two weeks following that we lost a five year golfing buddy in our Wed/Fri group to cancer. Last evening I learned that my next door neighbor has stage four. I'm kind of really down after this Summer's loses. I have pressed my primary care to check me thoroughly and he did with two MRI's and a CT. Once it gets to stage four it is hard to do anything to stop it. Get regular checkups.

I am really sorry for your loses as I know what you are going through. I also lost a Brother to cancer and lost my first wife after 40 years to cancer and my current wife who is a wonderful person was just treated for Stage 3+ cancer but thank god was cured and is now cancer free. We should never give up but go to a respectable and great Hospital and be treated as today they are saving many more serious cancer patients. In my wife's case she was mis dignosed and so we went for a second opinion and found she had been mis diagoned, and the Dr/Hospital found the real cause of her pain and after a 6 hour operation and radiation treatment cured her. We should never give up but continue to have faith and fight for a life. I remember when they use to only say it is in "remission" however the term cured is not used. Hope you continue to believe in giving life a chance.
