This maybe a short thread, but what are you a snob about......maybe not a full fledged snob, but a preference. Food, shoes, clothes, booze, cell phone, auto, etc.

((I know, I know.........I'm inviting the pizza experts)

Mine??:

>>Iowa Beef

>>IA / IL corn on the cob

>>Bombay Gin (not sapphire)

>>Titleist NXT Tour (not a Pro V fan)

>>Northern Toilet Paper (not a Charmin fan)

>>Tuccillo (when there is a hurricane)

I would not say I am a snob, but I do like the finner things of life.

I am not, however, a snob when it comes to people. I do not care what ethnicity you are, or where you were educated or how much money you have, or how big your house is, or what you drive, but do not be a phony. Cannot abide people who pretend to be what they are not.

I am not a snob, but the other day at Evans Prarie I ran into the biggest snob!

Two couples were going to their car after golf. The lady was saying that if you invite someone to ride in your golf cart, you should be considerate enough to have decent sized seats and not those CHEAP golf cart seats. I could describe the lady but decided not to.

Grammar
This! However, I would rather hear someone's opinion than critique his grammar. But for myself, husband, and children, grammar.

Other things:
Nucky's Scott's sandpaper--the thousand-sheet rolls.
Paper towels--Bounty Select-a-Size

Wine
Quality of ingredients, especially in restaurants
Cooking utensils
Mayo
Shoes--I will pay lots if they are comfortable and only buy certain brands. They're an inelastic commodity for me.

What I'm not a snob about--cars. I don't care, as long as it's comfy to ride in. We have a 13-yr-old Dodge Magnum we refuse to get rid of as it's the most comfortable ride we've ever had. Maybe that in itself is (reverse?) snobbery.

This is a fun thread.

For me literature. I hate to say it. I just can't stand seeing people reading awful fiction books. TV is for being awful, not reading. People will tell me about some terrible POS book like "Gone Girl" and I will be thinking Jeez, if you liked that, what would you think about King Lear?

Shoes.
When I was a kid, our family had nothing, and I always said if I ever make good, I will wear hand made shoes, better than the B*****d who forclosed on our home, and put us on the street.
......and I did, and I do!
Anything else, and I'm as cheap as chips!

I love this.

My friend grew up with questionable amounts of food on the table. He worked hard and made a good living for himself. He insisted there be meat on the table at every dinner.

I Googleized the difference between a Snob and A Snot and apparently, they are almost the same. I did forget several items.

Don't even try to give or sell me any other Ice Cream than the Publix brand and The Ice Coffee must be either DD'S or Starbuck's none of that other junk.

Maybe I missed the post but I'm waiting for the list from our resident Numero Uno Lovable Snobarooney! No Names Ever! :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Probably uses Mink instead of Scott's Sandpaper! :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

DD's or Starbucks aren't usually interchangeable. People usually prefer one or the other since they are very different. Chalk me up for Starbucks.

I'm sort of a reverse snob; I refuse to pay the ridiculous mark-ups on anything for the brand name: shoes, ugly purses, cars, clothes, ugly purses, jewelry, make-up, ugly purses, etc.

I am a popcorn snob. I only pop my own with real oil on my stove with a Whirley Pop. And the popcorn has to be Orville Redenbacher white popcorn, not yellow. I have to use real butter, no margarine and only popcorn salt, not real salt. No other popcorn measures up. And microwave popcorn? Sacrilegious...

I enjoy good food, wine. I have designer dresses ( think of the LBD) and purses (my first at 16, and still use) that are classic. Some over 10 years old, still look like the day I bought them. I like to spend money once and enjoy for years to come.

I am a fan of SNOB. My favorite restaurant in Charleston, SC. "Slightly North of Broard". Ate there last Friday. Hope it is not underwater.
