We are fortunate enough to have a home at the end of a Cul-De-Sac in the Village of Chatham. My home office is in the front of the house, so I see all the traffic coming and going in our little neighborhood. I am amazed by the number of commercial vehicles that turn onto our street, circle the Cul-De-Sac and then they leave without stopping anywhere. Landscapers, Vendors and all sorts of other commercial vehicles.

So, I'm wondering, are some of these people paid by the mile? I can understand an independent contractor running up miles to increase deductions for tax purposes, but the cost of the gas doesn't seem to break even. I'm wondering if this is happening in other areas.

I don't ever see this in Tamarind Grove. Could it be their GPS is wonky in your neighborhood?

Some drivers never managed the 'three point turn' so have to find a circular route to cut out any reversing!

Some people get mad if you turn your truck around using their drive, so most companies use the Cul De Sac. Its just easier than dealing with the irate phone calls. Len the retired half of Investment Painting.

We used to live in a cul de sac. (Not in tv) we thought it would be so nice and quiet. WRONG. I think some think it’s a cut through or as others have said are just using it as a u turn.

Good for you. It boggles my mind that people would complain about this. It's a street, not a private drive.

PS: You can turn around in my driveway any time you want.
