Hello from Akron OH on an ugly winter day.

My wife has been there 3 times to visit and I've been there 2 times. We'll be down the week of April 3 - 10 this year. Hoping to move there permanently in about 5 years.

Ah, another Akron resident that is sick of the weather and it is not getting any better. I feel the pain as I sit here and watch the snow come down. The 12 to 16" I had in the drive was nothing compared to the 36" mound of hard pack at the end of the drive thanks to the plow. Half of the mail boxes on the street are gone thanks to the plow as they took a pounding from all the snow from the front of the plow.

Interesting note that Forbes named Cleveland America's worst winter weather city. Even though Akron is about 30 to 35 miles south of Cleveland the weather here is not much better. The temperature at Akron Canton airport is almost always lower than Cleveland and the same with snow coverage.

Wow , am I glad I'm not there !!! If I had 36" of hard pack snow and ice at the end of my driveway , I wouldn't be able to get my golf cart out . But If you close your eyes and click your heals three times you can , (NO , WAIT A MINUTE ) its not any better in KANSAS either , You'll just have to be patient..........
