Yes. This is good news. Brownwood will have a market night like the other two squares.
Let's see how many people view this good news and add something positive.
IMHO this is great news for the Brownwood area and will boost the area!

They are posted in the October monthly guide, so I am assuming that they start in October.

The existing vendors were given a chance to express their preferences. Some that had multiple nights have been cut back to one, but that is to be expected when one night was eliminated.

Woohoo now we can have the same vendors in 3 places instead of 2 for umpteen more years. Just takes up valuable parking spaces 2 nights a week. If they move it FROM LSL to BWD that's fine with me.

This seems like relatively good news for Brownwood area residents but don't expect to see all the same vendors nor as many. Some vendors who have previously been working both squares, all 4 nights, have been reduced to just one or 2 nights. I don't think there are any vendors that will be working all 3 squares. The vendors did not have a say in how many nights, nor which squares they were to be assigned to. There are some popular vendors that you probably won't see around much longer because of this change. The vendors at the squares are hard working folks, many of them are villagers. This change takes place starting on October 3rd. If you want to continue having their unique items available, get out and support them.

We are soon to be new villagers so sorry if this is a dumb question. Does this mean “farmers” market like there is every Saturday morning? So there will be a farmers market in Brownwood Thursday night and Saturday morning? Then there won’t be music and happy hour in Brownwood on Thursday nights?

Not a dumb question at all. Vendor Night and Farmers Market are two different things.

How many house signs do you need, pickle ball gear, tee shirts, trinkets--after you first move here and buy all the little things that be a villager entails-no need to attend a mkt night, must agree with the above poster- taking up parking spaces around the square does nothing but hurt the restaurants in the immediate area

I have noticed that in the last few years the number of vendors has decreased. It seems reasonable to assume that if they have three a week in three different squares, rather than four a week in two squares, it would attract some vendors that have not signed on, or who have dropped out. I think it makes sense for residents and vendors.

The squares and the vendors are new to the "new". The squares and the vendors lose appeal to Villagers after they find other interests and friends to spend time with. That is why when a potential Villager wants to be near the squares I think...nope. I would rather be near the restaurants and the groceries and the sad to say Doctors, because as we get older we spend a lot of time at the doctors.

I agree, completely, although I know a lot of our Villager's love listening to music at the squares. We usually only visit them when company is in town (although the Farmer's Market at Brownwood) is a definite go-to place for us :)

We are very pleased to have a Market Night in Brownwood. Given the 'southern growth' of TV, it just makes sense.

I hear that a lot (don't go to the squares anymore) so it must be true for many people. We have been coming for ten years (not full time) and we still enjoy going to the squares for entertainment a couple times a week. I hope we never "outgrow" the enjoyment of that as I feel it is an important part of "the Villages experience". It reminds me every time of why we fell in love with this uniquely beautiful and wonderful community full of active, happy, and upbeat seniors.

We have been coming since 07. Market Night then the entire square was filled with venders. As the years have gone by you see less and less of things you truly would buy. If we stop by a square for entertainment it’s because company has arrived. I will say parking will be at a premium on Thursday in Brownwood, with restaurants, music, and vendors.

After our first three years in TV we avoid the squares after sunset like the plague--pain in the butt parking-- too many out of town cowboys trying to feel like hot shots on cheap beer--

Ok like it or not we were in Brownwood on Friday, clientele did not make me feel comfortable walking around. I don’t have that feeling at SS or LSL.
So who wants to shame us on this post. I worked in Detroit and never felt this uncomfortable.

Maybe the difference between being full time and part time?

Yup, nothing like extra hordes of people to kill the restaurant business.
