Iraq – great accomplishment?

I thought I’d heard everything but Joe Biden said the other night that Iraq was one of "This Administrations" great accomplishments and went on to tout the many successes in Iraq. Didn’t Obama and Biden both say the surge was a mistake and would only make things worse? Didn’t they both want to cut and run from Iraq several years ago? Didn’t they both believe the war was lost and things were only getting worse?

How many times was Bush dragged through the mud on this board for his decisions on Iraq? Now your man Obama is taking credit and proud of “their” success in Iraq.

What a bunch of shameless scoundrels.

When I heard this comment, this morning, I couldn't believe it. This is over the top even for this bunch. I think he said this on Larry King. I don't suppose King found it unbelievable.

"On Larry King Live last night, Vice President Joe Biden said Iraq "could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government."

The vice president said he’d been to Iraq 17 times and visits the country every three months or so. "I know every one of the major players in all the segments of that society" he said. "It's impressed me. I've been impressed how they have been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences."

Now Joe Biden is known to put his foot in his mouth, BUT READ THE REMARKS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE....AMAZING STUFF, BUT NOT SURPRISING...

"At the briefing today, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs was asked about Biden calling Iraq one of the great potential achievements of the Obama administration given that Biden had previously advocated that the country should be divided into thirds and split among Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis, and then-Sen. Obama opposing the surge of US troops that many experts argue helped bring stability that allowed the reconciliation process to continue.

In fact, in January 2007 then-Sen. Obama said that he was "not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence. In fact, I think it will do the reverse."

Gibbs said the achievement was "putting what was broken back together and getting our troops home, which we intend to do in August of this year."

A reporter pointed out that the Status of Forces Agreement to bring troops home was signed before the president took office.

Gibbs called that agreement "something I think that the political pressure that the president, as a then-candidate, helped to bring about."

It appears that this administration..not just Joe Biden....will take credit no matter who accomplishs what.....and will blame somebody (ALWAYS from the other party) for what does not end nicely.

This is the administration that said politics would never play a role in what they do or say, but remarkably IT PLAYS TOTALLY INTO EVERYTHING THEY DO. Of course this President was talking about his legacy before he even took office !

This is just one MORE example of how this administration says one thing and does another! I wish I had as many flip-flops in my wardrobe as this asministration has in its short existence. It's another reason why I cannot trust anything that comes from this white house!

We can only thank the Good Lord that the people of Delaware finally saw through him and overwhelmingly rejected his son's campaign for national office.

I this enough to prove to you that both Joe Biden and the man who choose him for VP are not bright enough to hold a national office or do you need more?
