Any time I see an establishment slicing meat, cheese, and veggies on the same slicer without sanitizing it between slicings, I walk away. Ever hear of cross food contamination? Remember Blimpies? Gone now. Schlotskies? Went belly up, some one else bought the name and is trying to bring it back. Subway? It's like McDonalds. OK food at a good price, but no cross contamination. Remember, veggies grow in dirt. Dirt has bacteria.

I really don’t trust any restaurants in Florida

You probably do not reside in the lower Villages to have made this response. We have virtually few restaurants of any kind and the newest area around Fenny has exactly one. You may not need them, but we do I for one am happy.

You haven't been in a Jersey Mike's have you? Because your statement is not true. Jersey Mike's does not slice the meats and cheeses at the same time as the veggies. The meats and cheese are sliced right in front of you when you place your order. The veggies are at the next work station and they are pre-cut before opening and kept refrigerated in clear bags until they are added to the work station. The bread is also baked on premises fresh every morning before opening. It's the freshest and best sub I've ever eaten!
Jersey Mike's started in 1975 and began franchising in 1987 and now have 1500 locations, in 2015 alone they added 197 stores. In Florida they have 141 locations and Lady Lake is the #1 store in Florida. Jake the owner also owns the Mount Dora location and Trailwinds will be his third. Apparently whatever caused those other chains to go out of business, they didn't operate like Jersey Mike's.
Here's the sandwich prep table, that's where you tell the sandwich maker 'you'll have it Mike's Way', that's shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes and onions, olive oil & red wine vinegar, salt & pepper and oregano, or they make it however you want yours. The meats and cheeses were sliced fresh at the previous work station.

There's a great app out there called "what the health, FL" that gives you the inspection reports on all the restaurants.

Stop making TV look like a pit stop off of an interstate--all these so called Restaurants are prevalent off of I-95--I-75 -I-40

So, just for grins, the picture you posted of the sandwich making area has at least two items above the chill line in the holding pans. If I were to take a laser thermometer to either, I guarantee they would be above the legal limit of 41 degrees F. That's a serious health code violation since bacteria grow significantly when above that limit. Just sayin'

Well please give me a whole Tuna Sub include the bacteria and germs just like last time because it was off the hook fantastic. Your results may vary.
I try to never complain about bad food and try to support stores like Jersey Mikes. Great SanGwiches, nice people, close to home, what's to complain about, NOTHING!
There is a different Sub Store over near Lowes on 441, many love it. Me, Meh.
Acceptance
Acceptance is the answer to ALL of my problems today.
When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation- some fact of my life- unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God's world by mistake.
Until I could accept my aversion to new things and placed and people, I could not ever be happy; unless I accept my life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in ME and in my attitudes.
Embrace your new dining experience or you may not have any other choices! Mangiare!

I have nothing to do with Jersey Mike's, I neither own or work at, but do eat quite often at JM. Heck I'm 68 my working days are over. The closest I came was working on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland in 1969 at Billy's Famous Subs, it was the first sub shop to open in Ocean City back in '63. I've been eating subs my life. Apparently the millions of subs sold by Jersey Mike's haven't gotten anyone sick, so I'll take my chances, they are the fastest growing restaurant franchise in America.
The only reason I defend them is I hate to see people put places down when they've never even been there. Case in point, you didn't know about the slicing, so you never been there. Now you've checked their menu and found it too expensive, apparently it hasn't hurt sales. A good cold-cut sub should cost about $6 and a steak with peppers and onions about $8, and that's what they charge. You probably looked at the Jumbo prices, maybe it's time to push away from the table. Don't compare super market subs or Subway subs with the real deal.
As far as the lettuce above the chill line, again, if you ever bother to go into the place you're so keen on criticizing you would that during most hours of the day there is a line waiting to order, these places are goldmines. They fill the bins up full so they don't have to slow down the line.

No, I haven't other than to check out the overpriced menu. I take it you either worked at a Jersey Mike's or owned one. That's fine. And yes, I do live south of 466A. You're right, we do need more good restaurants around here but another sandwich shop is not want I wanted to see. Trailwinds is an ideal spot for a Cheddars Scratch Kitchen.
What are yo doing to get this Cheddars restaurant CHAIN to come to The Villages?

John;
Even though they may go through their produce in a short period of time, it's still a health code violation. Whatever. You like them, that's fine. I don't see the attraction. And actually, the fastest growing restaurant chain in the country is Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant. Second is First Watch, followed by Shake Shack, Blaze Pizza, and Mod Pizza. At least we have one of those here.
