Best movie of the year. Cooper and Gaga were spectacular. All new music and it was performed by Cooper and Gaga themselves. Go early. We went to the 1:30 showing and even though we arrived at 12:50 the line inside was already to the exit door.

Will have to wait on this one until the lines come down.

That is something I hope people will keep to themselves. Like a lot of stuff going around right now.

Great movie...Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have great chemistry. Betting there will be multiple Oscar nominations for this movie. Excellent soundtrack.

Two advisories: A couple of the concert scenes were quite loud (especially the very first scone in the movie), and the language is one of the reasons for the R rating.

And Charlie the dog is really Bradley Cooper's dog in real life.

Great chemistry between Gaga and Cooper but I found the movie to move slow, my opinion.
Movie theater was packed.

I’ll have to see this, based on your comments, but I have to tell you, I am getting so tired of “retreads”. I suppose it makes sense that it costs less to develop (?), but I am seeing this in both movies and television. End of whining and griping.

Interesting youtube vid comparing four A Star is Born versions:

1937 Janet Gaynor/Fredric March
1954 Judy Garland/James Mason
1976 Barbara Streisand/Kris Kristofferson
2018 Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper

Saw the 1:30 showing yesterday - bonus was the closed caption. As Schaum mentioned, there are several scenes that are fingers-in-the-ears-worthy, esp the first 5 min... and 'language' - I'm no prude, but the F-word is so overused in so many films - this one no exception.

This said, the rest is A++. Cooper and Gaga are simply fantastic, and yes certainly award worthy. Interesting that one of Gaga's demands was no lip-synching and all singing was live.

Absolutely worth the admission to see this movie (although was shocked that MoviePass had it available).

Quite a long line for the 2018 movie A Star is Born at 1:30 PM at the Barnstorm Theater. Went to Venom instead which had very few people in the theater but still had to go through a good sized queue.

Yes I saw it with two other women and we loved it. All of the actors did a fabulous job. I was pleasantly surprised and especially impressed with Lady Gaga's performance. I have been a long time fan of Bradley Cooper's and enjoy seeing him on the screen almost as much as George Clooney. I don't know whether my husband would have liked the film as he prefers movies with a lighter theme.

I saw this YouTube video. Very interesting comparisons between the 4 versions. Yes creator of the YouTube video was right - Judy Garland was Norman Maine. I will have to get the 1954 version which I have never seen and rewatch the 1976 version.

When the 1976 version came out, I was a sophomore in high school. A friend of mine and I tried to see the movie, but it was rated R so we were turned away. I convinced my mom to take me to see it a few days later. Mom and I enjoyed going to movies together. :)

I am definitely in the minority. I thought it was long and tedious. Chemistry between the stars lukewarm. Hard to hear dialogue. Cooper looked and acted the same sober or drunk (unless totally wasted). started looking at my watch with an hour left.

Saw it this afternoon at the Barnstorm theater with an audience of maybe 150 or more people. Really liked the film and Lady Gaga wrote most of the music.

Will probably see it again soon.:bigbow:
