I’m trying to find out what type of hotels (chains, brands, etc) Villagers like to visit when they are travelling, especially to the North East, and what you like most about those hotels.

Thanks!

I tend to gravitate toward extended-stay type hotels. I like the convenience of a kitchen and larger rooms. They mostly have free, hot breakfasts. Some have evening, cocktail meet-and-greets during the week. I haven't experienced all the brands, but I have liked all of my stays at Homewood Suites by Hilton.

La Quinta and Best Western, not the nicest hotels, but the nicest dog friendly options. Non-dog friendly hotels are a non-starter for us.

Hampton Inn & Hilton Garden

Yes, this is my way of "roughing it" when traveling..

Hampton Inn. Comfortable room and surroundings with a decent breakfast. Hilton Honors member perks are a plus.

We always go for the dog friendly hotel when we are traveling with a pooch in tow.

definitely Homewood Suites if I don't have the dogs. La Quinta if I do.

We stay at Courtyard by Marriott. Always the same from city to city.

Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inns, Country Inns, Fairfield Inn. I always check ratings and customer comments for cleanliness, customer service. Area is important.
