Has anyone had experience with a pest control company that will curb or eliminate the millipedes that seem to be thriving in the grass? Our pest control company has a very casual attitude about treating them telling us they will die off by November 1. Right now we are infested with them ( inside the garage, outside entry area, and occasionally in the house) and need them removed immediately. I need the name of a pest control company that will eliminate these pests. Thanks.

Not sure there is a local company for you. The ones I’ve talked to in the past were pretty much in agreement that there wasn’t much that can be done about killing the critters. They get on a migrating path and won’t deviate. One long, never ending straight line. You might kill the first 100 but next 100 just keep coming. On the plus side, you’re almost done with them.

Raise chickens. If you have the space, energy, time, and resources, consider raising chickens on your property. Chickens are a rather unconventional method of getting rid of millipedes, but they are a natural predator and can keep your millipede population under control for the duration of their lives.
Chickens have a rather large appetite; a few chickens can take care of most moderate infestations.
Only consider this option if you are zoned to care for chickens and if you know that you are ready for the responsibility of caring for chickens.

That is what my friend in Pine Ridge was told also by pest exterminators. It is extremely upsetting to learn that there is nothing that can be done about them. How long is their season?
