I was struck by Evan Bayh's comments.....

"In an interview on MSNBC this morning, newly retiring Sen. Evan Bayh declared the American political system "dysfunctional," riddled with "brain-dead partisanship" and permanent campaigning. Flatly denying any possibility that he'd seek the presidency or any other higher office, Bayh argued that the American people needed to deliver a "shock" to Congress by voting incumbents out in mass and replacing them with people interested in reforming the process and governing for the good of the people, rather than deep-pocketed special-interest groups."

Maybe some of these folks are listening.....

Now our President has another idea....this is what he said recently...

Senator Bayh "declared" the above? Did he just discover these facts? Most people I know, liberals, conservatives and especially independents, have known this for years.

There is a highly contagious disease within The Beltway. Among its symptoms are arrogance, loss of common sense, lack of backbone, loss of memory usually related to campaign promises, onset of stupidity, state of denial, inflated ego, compulsive lying, ad infinitum. There seems to be no cure,or treatment nor is there any vaccine to prevent it.

Bayh also said if he could go back to the private sector and create one job, it would be one more than the stimulus created.

I also saw the new CNN poll that said 52% would not vote to reelect Obama to a second term, a day before Obama is celebrating the one year anniversary of his successful stimulus.

I told my wife this morning, I've maxed out all our credit cards, we're going bankrupt and are about to loose the house. So, we're going out to dinner to celebrate the one year anniversary of my new budget plan.

We're living in the twilight zone.

I think the major problem with the old "THRO" (Throw the Hypocritical Rascals Out) movement from the 1980s that is making a comback is the dearth of qualified candidates to fill their jobs.

I mean, with the gauntlet that the press will run you through - who's going to risk all that? Who, among REAL PEOPLE, has the resources to run a campaign *and* still make the mortgage payment? (This was the intent of our founding fathers - be successful, do your public service, return to private life).

along with his peers. He also has seen the hand writing on the wall and like Spector, Reid and many many others, now know they just may not get re elected AGAIN. That we the people are fed up with those who only take up space in DC and work in ONLY their own best interest.
Hence, guys like Bayh will announce getting out for all the obvious reasons to sort of set himself apart from the rest.....nice try.

It matters not about the lack of candidates or dare I even say qualified candidates. The incumbents are not qualified either. And I do not buy the devil you know may be better than the one you don't. That is why DC is like it is. The actually, until recently thought they were invulnerable.
I am totally in favor of flushing ALL the incumbents, replacing them with fresh new faces. This sends the message to the incumbents and serves notice to the newbies.

That is the objective after all, send DC the message we are in fact sick and tired of no representation representatives!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to think that at one time he was on Osama's short list for VP. Didn't take him too long to sour on the whole thing.
