What is the most cost effective way to secure a golf cart? What really works?

Have had a rash of thefts out here in Laguna Woods, California. The darn crooks are smart. Have seen cables and steering wheel locks that can be cut and or defeated using freon.

I use a big chain, turn the wheels hard left and run the unsecured end of the chain through the steering wheel. They can still steal if they use bolt cutters or saw through the steering wheel. I lock it up 100% of the time I don't have eyes on.
Your son's cart was probably put on a trailer and is now in a chop shop. I would bet the cops know where to look.

GPS tracker. 90.00 or less, 9.00 a month monitoring fee. Set up alerts if it leaves a predetermined area. Will track from inside a garage or covered trailer.

Hard to do as the cart can be put on a trailer and moved. A new ignition switch is step one but it can still be hot wired. Probably step two is a remote control switch. It would work like your garage door opener. When pushed it would complete the ignition circuit and next push would disconnect the ignition.

Hi there is a locking item for motorcycles, it is a hardened Chain that is sturdy, it has two locking open ends, looks like handcuffs, made by Master Lock.
I am considering it for my Bicycles. If these Cities and counties would lock up the criminals, they are letting them out early and with chicken excuses etc.

With no practice I can jumper an ignition switch (unique or not) on a Yamaha in less than 45 seconds. I timed it. A bolt cutter on a chained steering wheel takes even less time. After that thought process I went the GPS route.

Image this call:

"911 what is your emergency?"

My cart has been stolen it has GPS, here is the address where it is located.

The criminals have no fear!

How about sticker that’s says GPS protected? Where it is or isn’t that would be deterrent IMO

I just use a wheel boot, and park next to a better cart that has no deterrents.
