Yesterday in the mail I received the letter letting me know that the 2010 Villages Resident Survey will be available on TheVillages.net starting March 8, 2010 and ending March 28,2010. This survey is used by The Villages and the District Goverment to find out how this community can be improved. This is our opportunity to voice our opinion on what we want in our community.
It was reported that last year about 1/3 of the over 30,000 homes in The Villages responded to this survey. Please help your neighbors who don't have access to a computer and the net fill out this survey. There will be many questions to be answered and it is our chance to let the powers at be know your wants.
The letter also states that staff will help people at the Savannah Center computer room and the Mark Twain Library to assist in the use of the computers to fill out the survey.
They will ask you what you want in The Villages.
I for one would like to see Yankee Clipper and Southern Star exec courses stay a 18 hole layout. I will let this be known on the survey. If you feel the same way let them know.
What other changes or new things will you let the powers at be know about?
Remember this is our time to let them know!

Great question! You do not have to join Thevillages.net to do this survey.
There are many things at this site you can enter without joining. The main two thing you get when you join is golf tee time access and e-mail.a Just go to their site and soon they will have the access to the survery posted and then just click on it.

Folks, look to the forests not the trees, while all your points are valid, the suggestion was to increase the number of responses first! Suggestions are great but they can only be given more weight by the number of people responding to the questionnaire. While we have a wonderful life here, and hardly anyone can deny that, there are always improvements that make our lives more enjoyable and fruitful for all, but first we must reply to the survey.

Thank You, Very well put!
There will be many questions like How many times a week do you go out to eat and leave home in your golf cart vs your car? How many times a week do you go shopping via golf cart. They want to show retailers why they need to lease from The Villages and then they will be gof cart accessable. They will give you a list of retailers and ask you which ones you would like to see here in The Villages. From this list you will get a feel as to who they are trying to get here for us. These are the type of questions they have asked in the past.
The Villages will use these results to show possible retailers to let them know why they need to lease from them and be here in The Villages for us. There will be many golf cart travel related questions for this reason.
This survey will help The Villages get us the retailers that they want to lease to and it will help us get what we want. Your participation in this survey is a win situation for The Villages and that makes it a winner for those who live here.
When the survey is available we can post some of the questions here on Talk of The Villages and share our thoughts.

The Villages 2010 Resident Survey is now available at
https://www.thevillages.net/
The last day to fill out this survey is March 28, 2010.
Many of the things that are discussed here at Talk Of The Villages is covered in this survey. It is your way as a resident to voice your opinion in what you want in this community. Your likes and dislikes. Many of the improvements that have been made over the years have come from this survey. They do pay attention to what information is given to them.
You can rate the quality of the Golf Courses both Championship and Executive each course has a seperate rating. You can let them know what resturants and retail stores you would like to have here.
It takes about 20 minutes to fill the survey out. You can go in and out of it over several days so you don't have to do it in one sitting. The first section is developer related the second is on the District Goverment.
Submit yours and help your neighbor submit theirs if they don't have access to a computer.

A Bahama Breeze like they have by Tampa Airport would be a great addition to TV........by the lighthouse or close to the square like at rj gators.
I think they are affiliated with Red Lobster.
Very good food and the largest wings I have ever had!:MOJE_whot:

Please take better care of the executive course greens. This past season many of them were unplayable.

I agree Bogie, the weather was colder than normal and traffic very heavy for 2 months.

I feel a true Villages Performing Arts Centre is not unreasonable, seeing as what they spending money on. I'd even vote for some kind of bond issue.

Bogey, this thread was about what we would like to see in the resident survey. That is why I requested that they take better care of the executive greens. Some folks want performing art centers or indoor pools, all I want is for our greens to be as good as the greens outside of the villages, not to excuse falure where it exists and certainly, not to " beat it to death "
Thanks

New code every year.
I can imagine the problem doing the survey on dial-up. If you are in TV go to the Savannah center or the library and use one of their computers. Otherwise ask a friend that has broadband.

I put on mine that I would like to see a shuttle service (like they do at the hospital) for the town squares. Too many people are not able to walk from the remote parking lots to the square, restaurants, movies, etc. Looks like it would behove the merchants to help with this. A few weeks ago, one of our ladies clubs ate at red sauce and some of us had to walk from the furthest part of the parking lot behind Cold Water Creek...that's some 2 blocks as the crow flies at that. We drove around about 15 minutes with no luck. I had no problem with walking (could stand to do more..haha), but some of them simply could not because of disabilities, etc. (Not all of them are old, either...we have some relatively young ones unable to handle it.) There was virtually no parking, golf cart or car at lunch time. A couple of them simply returned home (and they were in a cart) because they could neither one handle the distance on foot.:ohdear:

If you're in favour of additional dog parks in The Villages, please remember to make a write-in comment on your Survey!
