Grandchildren ages 6 - 11 are coming to visit for a few days. Any suggestions on how to entertain them?

Disney, Universal, many more in Orlando. Beach along Gulf coast.
Community pools, go for a walk, teach them to cook, sew, fish, tennis, pickleball shuffleboard make 'stuff,' etc. etc.

Before any of the above, take their cells and pads away, or you are wasting your time and money!

Don't let them drive your golf cart.

That’s right, no driving a golf cart but DO rent a cart. Our grandchildren loved riding all over The Villages, looking in the ponds for alligators! Kids this age LOVE riding in a golf cart.

Take them to a square at night, so they can watch old people dance. Kids do love music too.

They will love Homossassa, the outdoor zoo with native Florida animals that includes a boat ride.

Press search above and type in "grandchildren visit". There is a wealth of info.

Do things with them, make pizza or cookies. Show them their parents when they were young in old pictures. Let them have too much candy and talk to them.

There is an alligator rescue in Wildwood. Gatorworld? Includes a petting zoo. My 6 year old granddaughter just visited. What she loved the most was the pool and riding in the golf cart especially going over the golf cart bridge.

If you do not want to do Disney or Univesal because of the cost, try Fun Spot America. Half (or less) the price of the big parks, but lots of rides for the kids. A St. John’s River Cruise out of Astor is great. The glass bottom boats on Crystal River is a good afternoon. Within TV, riding around on the golf carts, playing shuffleboard, pools, the nature preserve off of Moyer Loop, or visiting the squares.

Our granddaughters loved Fun Spot America. I think it's good for maybe 8 to 14-year olds. A bonus is that if your grandkids are old enough to go on the rides by themselves, there is a nice air conditioned building with food and lots of tables. Also adults do not have to buy tickets if they do not go on the rides. Fun Spot feels clean, is well-maintained, and feels safe.
