The original "Halloween" was released 40 years ago and launched Jamie Lee Curtis' acting career. I was a senior in high school when I saw the 1978 version, and the movie scared the stuffing out of me.

Horror movies are not my favorite genre; I haven't seen one in years. But I had to see the 2018 version of Halloween. Jamie Lee Curtis turns 60 in a few weeks, and this time she is ready for Michael Myers. Not quite as scary as the original, but still pretty scary. Definitely not a movie for visiting grandchildren unless they are at least 16.

Halloween has become the highest grossing movie with a female lead over the age of 55.

Definitely not my genre either. But your review makes me want to see it. Thank you.

Halloween (2018) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/halloween_2018/)

Definitely not as frightening as the original but is almost as good as that one. The rest of them were kind of turkeys IMHO.

Only one other person in the theater when I saw it this afternoon.

I get a little creeped out when I am the only person in these scary movies.

Really liked the details in this movie. And the movie theater workers are so friendly of late. Big smiles from some of them.

I know I'll have to see it. When the original Halloween was out I had a crush on Jamie Lee and seems like I still do. We've both aged beautifully.
