Bath tub to shower conversion??

Has anybody converted a tub to a shower area....whether by insert or free stand re-make?

Is it as simple as advertised? Some even boast a "one day" conversion!!

We are thinking of converting a hall bath from a tub set up to a walk in shower.

I wanted to get what ever insight might be available on TOTV before starting the task of having suppliers/contractors estimates.

I usually do a search before seek; for some reason it never crossed my mind to do so on this subject.
