My wife tried golf for the first time when we were on our Lifestyle Preview and she really enjoyed it, so we went out and got her a great set of ladies Callaway clubs for a very reasonable price. Here is a link if you want to see what I am talking about:

Since then, I have been looking for something comparable in men's clubs. I'm just a "duffer" at this point, so I'm not sure I want to invest in "custom fitted clubs" just yet, but I can't seem to find anything that compares in a "ready to shoot" set. Any suggestions as to manufacturers that might have such a set?

If you were living here in TV I would suggest you go to the Golf Academy. They have a range of different demo clubs, prices vary, that they allow you to sign out and try for three days. I did that before I bought my Adams clubs last year. You might want to check in your area to see if any golf stores or country clubs offer the same option.

The previous post was right on...the Golf Academy is the best place to start in TV.

For what its worth....if you like the golf experience and plan to continue playing in the hope of improving....you really should take the time and spend the $$ to get clubs that are custom fitted for you.....i didn't with my first set and was not pleased...next set was customized for me...and what a difference.

I agree with both of these gentlemen. Very good advice.

Spend money on lessons before buying clubs and get advice from a pro before spending money on equipment.
