Recently was in a neighbor's lanai that was enclosed with acrylic sliding windows.
The windows were creaking and were making a lot of noise.
It was a bit windy that day and they said that always happens when it's windy out.
Is this common?
Researching enclosing an expanded lanai on a Camellia.
Thanks for your input.

Whalen, I don't know about acrylic but we enclosed our lanai in glass and used White Aluminum and they did a superb job. This Winter it was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the warmth. We face south east and have morning sun. When the lanai was screened we rarely used it and it was alway dirty. Munn's checked out our air conditioner and found that it could support vents to the lanai. In the warmer weather it is pleasantly cool. The impact on our insurance is minimal and well worth choosing glass over acrylic.

I have had acrylic windows for 8 years (the up and down sliders vs the vertical sliders) and have never noticed a problem.

Starting to get some estimates to enclose our lanai.
Please share your experiences, any recommendations or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
