Does anyone know how you can dispose of Paint and other controlled items in the Villages? Thanks:ho:

For paint, open the can and let it dry out, then it can go in the regular trash, or you can mix with kitty litter, let dry and throw out. As for other liquids, there is usually a twice a year hazardous waste drop-off event. I do not recall the dates. In any case, please do not just place in trash or recycling or pour down the house drain or drains along roads.

I'm not sure you should dry out oil based paints for disposal. I believe this is correct for latex paints only, and that oil based paints should be disposed of at the hazardous drop off event.

:ohdear: "Disposals" with a title like that people will think you are talking about "garbage disposals" not garbage. :icon_wink:

Good point, I have not seen many oil based paints recently and was thinking of latex paints, thanks for the correction.
