afternoon around 3 PM? South west sky. I haven't seen one for many, many years. Because of the angle, from LSL, I was unable to decipher the word.

A long time ago on TOTV, I read that The Villages will not allow TOTV to advertise in "The Daily Sun."
When I heard that, I thought, "Hey, why not hire a pilot to tow a banner around -- like maybe on a parade day." (I know that's not skywriting so maybe I am hijacking this thread. Sort of. But it is kind of on the general topic of advertising in the sky. Those pilots are usually advertising something..... or asking somebody to marry somebody maybe.)
Hey! Mr.Tony, Mr. Admin, Sir! Was that you up there? Geez. Trying to write "Talk of the Villages" followed by a .com just does not work. And besides, skywriting disappears too fast. You get a lot more bang for the buck with a banner.
Mr. Tony, please listen to me. Next time, get a banner. Banners are reusable. Just do a low fly-by and drop it gently before you land. Like maybe in a grassy area. TH will probably wait there for it and pick it up. And then it will be all ready for the next parade day.

I saw it and had a clear view of it, but I couldn't make out what it was trying to write either. It started to look like a number rather than a word by the point I lost interest and stopped watching. I hope no one paid big $$$ to get their message across.
I have seen other sky writing where a group of planes flying in formation emit short bursts of "smoke" as they fly from left to right to create whole characters as they fly. This provides much more legible writing and doesn't take as long so people's interest isn't lost.
I believe it said Surrender Dorothy.

Yep, I was standing outside talking with neighbors and we followed its progress. The first word was a bit muddled... something like Oiuss... but then followed by Loves U. So, somebody was trying to send a message but have no idea what the first word was. Sure took them a long time to form all the letters.

I bet, because that is what they write in Orlando. Have seen it there often.

Oh, it might have said, "Jesus Loves U". A sky writer does that frequently at a golf course I sometimes play near Atlanta.

OK , I saw it , and read it clearly ....First of all let me point out that if you look through green glass it will be much clearer.......
I ran into the house and grabbed a champagne bottle that was left over from my high school graduation party ..(it was a huge celebration put on by my parents)
I will admit that I had to squint a lot to read it but clearly it said...
