The Sumter Sheriff has a brochure which outlines pedestrian safety guidelines. After speaking with a deputy sheriff it is my understanding that parking lots are different from "roadways" and therefore whenever a pedestrian is involved in an accident involving a motor vehicle it is up to the insurance companies to sort out liability. The sheriff stated that when it comes to pedestrian safety "common sense" should be followed. HA! The sheriff said that pedestrians are not cited when accidents occur. What do you readers think about parking lot owners hiring security patrols to help maintain law and order? Something needs to be done to stop the pedestrian "no fault" responsibility...do you agree? If not, why not, and what would you suggest?
Security patrols - lots are big, guard on every row?
Have a lot of pedestrians been hit in parking lots in TV? Is no fault a problem here, anywhere?
Sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

Gotta agree. Nothing related to transportation is 100% risk free. Risk in TV...including pedestrians in parking lots...is no more than average.
