I will try to be nice, but the audio system at the seminars, particularly Annika Sorenstam's, was a complete embarrassment to the residents of The Villages. With several hundred people in attendance the mike that Annika was attempting to use kept breaking up. The audio system appeared to be something created by Thomas Alva Edison so I'm not sure if it was the system or the operators or just trying to get by on the cheap. So sad.... Whoever manages/operates the Golfest should be ashamed of the treatment Annika received. Boo!!!!:censored:

Right on about the sound system. Also how about the golf cart line bace to the rec center?
Seems they could have had multiple lines for entrance and parking. The vol's were great, but needed some guidance.

The sound system was indeed horrible. Also, when the presentation began all other activities nearby were suddenly shut down without warning. People waiting for 45 minutes for a free golf lesson, for example, were suddenly turned away with no provision to come back and resume there place in line when the presentation was over. Al lot of angry people.

Sound system must have been repaired as Dan Boever who followed Annika had a working sound system. Great show both he and Annika.

I agree on the line getting into the event. We bought our tickets in advance, but still had to wait in the "one" line while all the other folks bought their tickets. I asked why they didn't have at least two lines for those with prepaid tickets and they said "duh". Didn't think of that....:doh:

Not sure I fully understand why it's necessary to pay admission to an event that is largely intended to familiarize you with and get you interested in equipment being promoted by Golfing Companies. Would think the Golf Companies would underwrite such an undertaking. Sure they provide a bunch of good entertainment and personalities, but isn't the bottom line to entice you to buy their products. In effect, aren't you paying an entrance fee for the privilege of letting them show you the new products they want you to buy from them? Have to hand it to them, they sure do know how to get folks to be happy to pay to see the products they want to sell.

There were many other events becides those looking to sell a product. It was well worth the fee as far as I am concerned.

I was visiting a Doctor on the east side of RT441.
The land and the offices R not owned by TV.
We have become friends over time and he past this info on to me
about TV.

Initially he wanted to have his offices in TV community. So he started to
inquire about leasing. To find that not only do they, TV change a monthly
or annual fee for rent they also charge a percentage of your business's gross revenue.

So the more money your business makes you have to give some of it back to TV. Unless someone here knows what he says was wrong I would tend to believe him.

This is a common practice in the leased commerical real estate market all over the country and has been going on for years.

you pay your money and take your choice, no one is holding a gun to your head, if you can't see the value in the $10 admission to golfest then you don't attend, I have attended every year and find it a great value for the $ spent, as far as trying to figure out the ROI on a business/real estate location, I'm not sure this is where you want to go for an answer...jmo....gn

Every year people complain about having to pay to get into Golfest. Why do you think it should be free? These are companies trying to sell you their wares. They pay these celebrities to come in and talk to you and show you their tricks, etc. Do you think they are free?

This is not a Villages sponsored event. It is a Villages provided event. By glad you do not have to travel to Orlando or Ocala to attend it.

I looked at the appearances and it is a list full of no names compared to Annika and others in the past.. To me it's really a big demo day we et get the clubs. But it is something to do.

You're right 7.00 this year. My post was 2 years ago (3/12/2010) and for what's it worth it cost 8.00 at the pro shops. Nice to know it was 1.00 less this year compared to 2 years ago..........

I purchased an Odessy White Ice putter at the Golf Fest. I made the purchase after trying the putter and after having it fitted to my tall size. I was told it would be shipped to Sarasota Golf Shop in 5 business days. Not True!

It is now March 20 and still no new putter and nothing but excuses from the golf shop when I call them. Has anyone else had this issue with orders not being met as promised? I do not like being mislead by vendors. If they could not meet their promised deadline, they should say so up front. I am at the point where I am thinking about canceling the custom order and contacting my credit card company. I have purchased many clubs and putters online from Calloway and they always ship within 5-7 business days, even sooner if I pay for expedited shipping. Anyone else having this same problem from Golf Fest club purchases?

Finally on March 24 my putter finally arrived. To be fair, the Arnold Palmer Custom Shop had little control over the problem. It was more on misinformation given by the vendor at the event, and Calloway not staying on top of their game out in California. Anyways, I have my new putter and new hope for a better short game!
