Thanks BK... it really got scary there for a little while. Didn't have as much thunder and lightening as I thought, but the winds were very strong and the sky was pitch black. More rain and hail than I've ever seen. Scared the hell out of me and my dogs, we were living in the walk in closet for an hour. I must remember to get an electric plug put in there so I can play on the puter while I'm waiting for the storm to end. This is scary stuff. Would rather have an earthquake, its over in 20 secs.....

I understand completely, Kathie....I'm from CA, also. The weather here is weather...we had good weather just about all of the time on the west coast.

You do have a weather radio I hope. Today it was like a symphony....going off and off, then phone calls from the emergency response alert system, emergency weather alerts on tv and then thunder and rain. We got no hail in my area of Caroline.

Someone sent this to us today to register for severe weather warnings via phone and email.
Below is a link to a website that let's you register for emergency telephone/cellphone/email notifications from the Sumter County sheriff's office. It's primarily for weather alerts, but it was recently activated for the water problem that hit some villages. Users have found that it is a supplement to a good weather alert radio and, in some cases, is even faster. It's free, also. If you don't already subscribe, I recommend it.
