You probably are looking for a neurosurgeon, not an orthopedic who operates on spines. Maybe one of the doctors with Ocala Neurosurgical Associates would help you. Barry Kaplan worked on my husband but I believe he has since moved his practice to Orlando.

My wife had same diagnosis, Dr Brian Miller managed her overall pain of UNOVA clinic. He sent her to Medical Imaging (Dr Jacobason) for spinal epidurial. Worked wonders so far staying away from back surgery.

Dr. Robertson of Ocala Neurological Associates is one of the best.
No nonsense straight shooter.....tells it like it is.
Advocate of surgery as last option.

Who diagnosed you? Wouldn't that doctor normally refer you to someone?
And, of course, in this day and age we need to look at who will take whatever insurance we have. Usually, the doctor that does the diagnosis will refer you to a doc that is in your insurance network.

one word of caution....I, too, have back pain so took mri disc to one neurosurgeon told me one of my discs was completely gone and I needed surgery, including fusion. my mri report was in line with the one above. went to UF for a second opinion and they looked like they couldn't understand why I was there. They actually showed me the mri on the computer and said they not only wouldn't recommend surgery, they said surgery wouldn't help what was wrong with me. chiropractic did no good. I'm trying to go to yoga now and that seems to help. may look into the inversion table given the success reported above.

My neuro surgeon said to ignore the written report.
Too many decisions made based on the "interpretation" of the radiologist on duty. Not indicating any demeaning of the work they do.
Decisions regarding surgery should be made by the surgeon reviewing the actual MRI (disc copy).
In addition have the surgeon show you on the MRI exactly what it is they intend to fix.
Ask what the likely out come of the surgery will be 24 months post surgery.

My husband used Dr Barry Kaplan for upper back surgery about 3 months ago! He’s doing fabulous! He’s with Orlando Health now. He has an office in Leesburg. Surgery was in Orlando but visits in Leesburg. I highly recommend

Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Hill are both good. Dr. Hill believe is here in TV. Stay away from the orthopedic group on Rolling Acres..UNOVA or something like that! good luck.
