I've been using Dr. Tafur for about 5 years now and he is board certified...I find him very good and usually takes his time during the visit to talk to you..He is the one that said last year that since I was a smoker lets do a chest x-ray even though I had no cough, shortness of breath, etc.. Turns out I had Stage 1 Lung cancer..Had my upper left lobe of my lung removed and needed no chemo or raditation...Thank heavens he suggested an x-ray...it gave me a second chance on life!!:a040:

I have an appointment with Dr. Tafur setup after I've moved to TV. I'm interested in knowing if anyone has any updated information or opinions about him that can be posted here or sent privately to me through a PM. Thanks!

here is where i check them out !Thanks Red Tail. It's a good site and it confirms the information I've found through several Googled sites. However, I'm hoping more to receive comments from personal experiences. A few of the online reviews were not good and a few were, but you can never really trust online reviews. Satisfied persons are not as likely to post as those that are disgruntled, and the latter are more likely to exagerate or embellish their ranking or comments! Again thanks for the link!

We have been patients of Dr. Tafur's since we came to T.V. 10 years ago.
At that time he was recommended to us by friends. We both like him very much, he is professional and friendly. At one time he was with a group of drs. and was only in T.V. one day per week, then he left the group and became full-time here (which to me is great-don't like the the idea of medical people only being available 1-2 days a week). He opened his own office and when we do go for our appointment, there's always people waiting.

On two occasions, my husband had to have various surgeries, and he was always available to help us get through the procedures, etc.

I think if you check his background at one time (maybe still is) he may have been on the medical boards of the Leesburg or Village hospital, just can't remember exactly.

The only way to determine if he is the right dr. for you is to meet him and see for yourself - everyone has different opinions. But we are very pleased he is our doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Tafur by another Villages doctor who practices in another area of medicine. That other doctor I found through TV's publications and interestingly he interned in the same NYS hospital I was born in... several years after I was born of course! My current doctor of the same dicipline also interned in the same hospital and when I asked if he knew the TV doctor there was an immediate look of surprise on his face. He said he knew him well and that he was a good man and hard worker, and he had been wondering where he was now as he lost track a number of years back! Quite reassuring when you hear that kind of opinion and the kind you gave about Dr. Tafur. Again thanks!

My husband went to him yesterday. He came out saying he would not go back to him. First, he couldn't understand what he was saying. Second, he felt he was very unprofessional. We are now looking for a new doctor.
