I do not live in pennecamp. I live in Winifred. I just looked both up on the map. In winifred which is about twice the distance from the tracks as pennecamp, late at night if i am in the bedroom on the west side of the house i can hear the train way off in the distance. Certainly not an annoyance to me. Kind of reminds me of when i was a kid on the farm.

I am sure that pennecamp can hear the train late at night on the west side of homes based on the above. Pennecamp is about 3 times the distance from the tracks as the Chatham area. That is where I hear the most complaints about the trains.

I am always amazed at how sound travels here in TV. I can hear the Pickleballs at laurel manor in the morning and that is about a mile away.

I'm in Hemingway, east of Pennecamp,

I can hear it, but to me it's soft and not an issue.

the tracks are near hwy301 in wildwood, a bit away, not in the backyards like on the north end

I live in St. Charles, which is near Pennecamp. We can hear it, off in the distance. It's not like you live next to the tracks or a rail yard. It's a soft, pleasant to me, sound.

I live in Liberty Park and we can hear it. It is not disturbing to us at all. More a soft sound in the distance.

We played Red Fish today...in a monsoon. The sand was literally blowing out of the traps and I could hear a train...but not very loud and the wind was most likely blowing the sound.

I really liked the course too. It was the first time we had played it. It is in the new village of Buttonwood which is adjacent to Pennecamp.

We played Yankee Clipper...in a sandstorm! Sometimes the wind helped my game...most times it didn't!:22yikes:

Sorry...didn't mean to hijack the train thread!

I live in Pennecamp and you can hear the train from the distance...it is not annoying like in Marion County where in some of the villages you can hear the wheels clang...now that is too close. In summary...the train is not an issue in Pennecamp.

I live where I can hear the trains and sometimes they seem quite close. Other times they are not heard. It is not a problem for me. In fact, I think I would miss them if I moved.

I know what you mean Downeaster. I lived somewhere many years ago where I could hear the trains and I loved hearing them for some reason. When I first moved away, I missed them a lot. Go figure.

We live south of 466 in the most westerly Village. The trains aren't bothersome and I wouldn't trade our location. All our neighbours feel the same way.
