My neighbor, who does not partake of TOTV, lost his money, drivers license credit cards etc while out and about a couple days ago. He was dreading all the stuff he needed to get done when there was a knock on the door and one of the "good people" was there . He found it on the MMP and took the time to find the house and return it. He also refused any reward. He wants to express his gratitude and the reinforcement this act gave to his belief that the are Good People Out There.

I am not at all surprised but delighted that one of my closely held beliefs is again confirmed. Our age, the boomers and better generations were raised well and most of us are ethical and honest.
Thank you for posting this. Merry Christmas.

Take everything out of your wallet, put it on your scanner, and scan it to your computer. Some day, you may be happy you did.

I like hearing that. Most of the people I have met in the Villages are good and decent people. It is the rotten ones who seem to get the most attention though. Or want it.

I left my purse in the cart while shopping at Belks. Went back and purse was gone and not turned in. My sister-in-law called my phone, in my purse, and a man answered. He saw my address on my drivers license and was at my home to return my purse. What a wonderful man and would not accept any reward.

I experienced the same thing yesterday, i lost my charge card and within an hour someone tracked me down and i got it back.
Just a Little FYI and i am not by any means patting myself on the back.
Two years ago i found someones wallet in the Gym and the gentleman was born in 1932, with his life in his wallet including a substantial amount of cash. One of the gym employees wanted to claim the wallet to get it back to the member, however i felt from interaction with this person he could not be trusted, later he was fired.
Moral of the story is i got back the wallet to the owner the same day his wallet was lost and you can't believe the gratitude by this person, he also wanted to reward me financially for finding his wallet which i refused. ( this is the gentleman that leaves those little papers we find on our driveway each month, Say Hi to Jerry when you see him, Great Guy!)
Well guess what folks my KARMA hit yesterday which restored my faith in humanity.
Try to be a good person is the moral of the story!!!!
Merry Xmas everyone and thanks for sharing my story.
I recently doublebacked on a multi modal trail and picked up a lady's purse. I could not find a phone number anywhere but she had her Villages ID in it, so I went to the Villages office in LSL and was able to get her phone number. She had quite a bit of cash in her purse and needless to say was happy when I called. She had been out looking for it for some time. IT can be a problem when the name is not in the phone book so I was fortunate to find the Villages ID.

Recognizing and applauding good is good for all of us. We are bombarded with media who present all of the awful ways that people can be irresponsible and evil.
I can't remember ever hearing anyone who was critical of saying good things about another.

I agree, this is no big deal. I also agree that the person who returned the items did the correct thing, is a good person, and I commend them.

Good people are out there everywhere. Try pulling your golf cart over to the side of one of the multi modal paths and opening a map. Before you can even open up the map and get your cheaters out, so you can actually read the map, multiple people will pull up and ask if they can help you find your destination. I don't know anyplace besides the Villages where people are so friendly. This happened several times to my wife and I when we were considering the Villages and the experience helped sell us on the place.

I once lost a small purse with cash and cards in it at Jones Beach NY. Thught it was gone forever and did all the onerous stuff you have to do. Next day someone called, had found it in a trash can. Minus the cash but everything else was there
