My sister, BIL and myself went for a ride today to look for the really large home in Pennecamp that some folks have been raving about. We went round and around looking for this large home but couldn't find it... but we did get a nice tour of Pennecamp.
Does anyone know the name of the street so we can find it on TV map??? Thanks for your help.

Baypoint Way.
Drove by after golf at Redfish Run on Saturday, looks like the second house on the point is under construction as well.

Had lunch with friend who is looking right across to it. They are the last Premier house on the street and they can see the back of the house really well. (They back...or front on Lake Miona too.) More gossip. She said that the construction workers say it is being built for a family member of the Morse family. She said it is over 7000 square feet and it is a combination of the St. Augustine and the Grandview models. If that size is true,Let me repeat myself, then it is for somone with clout, because they don't make exceptions to any model,or changes like that no matter how much money you have. My friend said that a man down the street from her wanted some changes and told them money was no object...and they said ...no.

Walked around it and doubt the 7000 sq. ft. under A/C. Does have 1 2-car and 2 1-car garages which create the "large illusion". Outstanding view. :coolsmiley:
You are correct in that a second house is under way. Can eventually see a private gate for the point. After all what is there for them to maintain road wise that they couldn't afford.

A Morse living in TV should be a good thing.

On The Villages official map there is a big white area behind the village of Allende and that is a large compound with horse barns and big homes and that is the Morse compound. (At least that is what I was told yesterday)
We went to an open house yesterday in the village of Allende and behind the home separated by a double fenced area there was an elevated viewing station for a horse exercise track and we asked the Villages sales agent about it and she told us that that area belonged to the Morse family and they had their homes there.

Okay, I was playing around this morning while on the last pot of coffee and was on the Sumter county web site looking at the properties around Pennecamp.
I then want to Google Glenn Hollow Farms as I have passed that gate on 466 hundreds of times and wanted to know who and what. I came up with this interesting site. http://www.corporationwiki.com/graphs/roamer.aspx?id=18611131 Now if you can see all the different companies and the players in the company family. I was trying to relate the names on this chart to the names on the county record for Pennecamp but did not come up with anything.
Next I went to the Sumter web page again and started playing with the GIS map. http://www.sumterpa.com/GIS/Search_F.asp I found the farm and started zooming around at the different properties around Glenn Hollow Farms. By clicking on the identify tab it will tell you the property owner of record. Some interesting names popped up in that area that are on the Google org chart. Interesting findings when you look at who is getting the homestead exemption.

There is another area in The Villages that is interesting to me. It is called Hickory Head Hammock and has huge iron gates that do not open with my pass card.
Anyone know anything about that area?? Very close to Spanish Springs and Hacienda Hills Village.

Gracie.... I had heard that Hickory Head Hammock originally had several of the Morse family living there. Harold Schwartz had a home in there. To my knowledge, it is part of the Villages, with amenity privileges. It may be setup as a separate homeowner's association (like the Spanish Springs villas) for common maintenance purposes and hence the private gate. From time to time a resale in there pops up on the VLS website.

Yes, we looked at a house for sale there (for friends, we could never afford it) and there are about 41 properties in there, I think. The MLS agent told us that the Morses used to live in that neighborhood. As I recall a few of the houses looked to be oversized manufactured-look houses and the rest were conventional. It is a beautiful area.

Speaking of the Spanish Springs Villas....why do they have a separate homeowner's assoc.?

Wrap a $500,000 bill around that pass card, the gate will open right up.

We saw the big house on Baypoint Way in Pennecamp. The view is gorgeous and I love the outdoor space. It's a beautiful home.
My husband and I went looking for the big house the other day and couldn't find it. We tried again today and drove all around Pennecamp but couldn't find it. How do you get to it? Thanks.

Find the model row in Pennecamp and follow the street they are on staying close the the lake. If you keep turning toward the lake you will dead end at the point on which the big house is located.

Today JoJo, me, daughter Helene and neighbor Ruthie prowled through the big house. The location is wonderful, it is placed out further than the other two homes that will be on the point and so it has an uninterrupted view of water on three sides from the birdcage, master bedroom and kitchen/greatroom. The home itself is probably closer to 5000 square feet rather than 7K. It has a HUGE masters suite and a large divided guest room with arches separating it, (probably for a sitting area in that bedroom), plus two other bedrooms. It has a butlers pantry leading from the front hall to the oversized kitchen and a LARGE built in bar in the great room. It has two rows of six (?) French doors, one from the master bedroom and one from another room that I can't figure out it's function. It has a pool, a spa, an outdoor kitchen and loads of extra space under it's birdcage. It has granite and upscale light fixtures and high ceilings throughout of course and I THINK it is a new form of an enlarged Grandview. The Grandview had previously been the largest model in the Premier series.
Just last week a new Premier model was announced called the Atlanta. I thought that the three homes on the point might be new models, or they could be spec houses, or the big one could be built for a Morse relative. It is a beautiful lot and the home doesn't disappoint. We were really lucky that we chose today to try to see the interior. The carpet is in, in fact it is basically finished and looks like it will be completely finished in just a few days. The plantings are delivered and waiting to be put in and the house needs a final cleaning. There is a lot of space behind the birdcage before you get to the fenced retaining wall. It will be a spacious backyard.
I am thinking again about buying a lottery ticket.

I am just surmising, but it makes sense that the Spanish Springs Villas and the Glenview Carriage Houses need separate associations to cover their shared costs for condos and conformity issues. They are probaby not responsible individually for their own lawn/landscape areas, roofs, etc.

We took a bike ride today, caught a glimpse from 'cross the pond......
First we thought we were looking at a large house with a garage attached, but the roof was black.....
So we pedalled around the lake and went out on the peninsula......
Lo, two homes and as close to each other as our ranch.
But that view (to the East at least!) is uncanny.
To the Norrh you see Lakeside landings (eternally under construction)
and assorted other outparcels.
Places like those will undoubtedly install landscaping to creatively mask the unsightly.
All in all that section of Pennecamp Premieres is a great neighborhood.
We're headed back to reality Friday so hopefully all the sleuths will keep everyone informed on how Bay Point develops

Looks like the the side lot of the more inland unit might be the of a third?
We then went down 462 , crossed over 466a and noticed the divided road going in toward 44 to the south.
Is this a new Interstate? ;)
