Perhaps it would be better to ask the County why?

Buena Vista had developed so many over the last 2 months, reminds me of PA., and not is a good way, at least these are not axle breakers!

Most on Morse have recently been patched (at least between 466A and 466). Maybe BV is next.

Maybe they are there to keep us snowbirds from getting homesick.

I can't recall seeing a pot hole in the 6-1/2 years that I've lived in The Villages. Where are these pot holes?

They are all over 466A plus Buena Vista and Morse between 466A and 466.

Missing a half inch of pavement is not a pot hole.

I don't know where you live, Bogie, but I drive these roads every day, and the holes are more than a half inch deep. It's pretty lame for a Florida road to be disintegrating in this fashion. So call it a Disintegration Hole. And the patches being applied are not smooth. Just sayin'.

I have started to see significant progress in patches, but I am very concerned these will not last, like previous patches did not last.

Cold patch doesn't last, it's intended to be a temporary fix until a road can be properly repaved. Hot patch can last several years as long as a snow plow doesn't stir it right back up in the same season it's laid down.

Neither will last as long as a proper repave with asphalt.

We are very concerned as well. One of the things that impressed us about TV was how well maintained it was. I am rather certain that if the developers ask the county to properly fix the roads, it would get done post haste. I wonder if this has been brought to their attention.

Potholes have been around TV for at least three years now. They fill them and the patch last a couple months and they are filled again. I did phone Sumter County two years ago (as suggested by several posts) and as I remember was told resurfacing ( Morse Blvd. between 466 and 466A) is scheduled for 2020. There are several “pothole threads” on TOTV and the County is well aware of this issue. The county will continue to fill/patch the road until a more permanent resurface is applied.

This is what pot holes look like where I come from https://cbsboston.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/potholesgeneric.jpg?w=420&h=316&crop=1

We used to call these axle breakers, and for the large ones, tank traps. The ones in TV are minor annoyances, I do not even avoid them, bump-bump, but they do detract from the area.

No evidence? Try going below 466 on Morse & near 466A southbound on Buena Vista.
It's not criticism of your beloved developer -- it's the county's responsibility.

Exactly. Go over by Morse Blvd near Mallory country club. There are tons of pot holes, especially in the roundabout right there. They are a hazard to people riding bicycles and motor cycles. Again, the roads are the responsibility of the country, and therefore no one is blaming the developer for the potholes. I am so sick of people being super sensitive as far as the developer goes, or just living in an alternate universe. Many posters have attested to the existence of potholes and their severity. They exist, they have been there for some time, should be better maintained, are a safety hazard. Period.
