Selling gold jewelry

I have another post about selling a diamond, and am getting many good suggestions.

Now I have a question about selling gold. Do I take it to two different buyers and go with the highest? I am thinking of going to Coast to Coast and Bob's coins, as I have done business with each in the past.

I would also check on the price of gold on the market, to get an idea of what a fair price would be. Remember though, most gold jewelry is made of an alloy, not pure gold. You might even want to watch the market for a while to get the best price possible.
