Anyone have any idea why 301 was backed up through town towards on ramp. Noticed it at 2pm and still there late.

I- 75 is an absolute nightmare both north and south. Bumper to bumper traffic accompanied by breakdowns and fender benders. Holiday weekend and snowbird traffic I guess. We drove up to Gainesville yesterday and it took twice as long as usual. On the way back we gave up early and took the backroads down including 301.

Holiday traveler traffic and snowbirds/renters most likely.

I-75 overflow/alternate.

Villages residents who want to go from TV South to TV North without traversing 39 roundabouts?!?!?:icon_wink:

We went up to Gainesville and back yesterday. Just as we were about to get on I-75 to come back, our GPS announced that there was over a 2-hour delay on it. We jumped off onto 441 (and later 301) as quick as we could. We checked back in and the GPS said the delay got to over 3 hours. That's pretty bad for a nominal 1-hour drive. A friend with us checked online and found that there were three separate traffic incidents (accidents to us laymen) on the route home. A LOT of people jumped over to 301 and slowed it down as well.

We were coming home from out of town and exited I 75 and took 441 all the way from Gainesville. Im75 was a nitght mare.

It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get from the railroad bridge on the north side of Wildwood to the highway on-ramp on the south side around 5:00 PM.
