Looking at a Sunkissed model to buy that is in Buttonwood, but can't find it on any maps. Can someone please tell me where that community is? If anyone lives there I'd appreciate what your opinion of the neighborhood is. How long does it take to get to places by golfcart or car.

new maps have it, it's way in the southwest corner of TV,
buena vista and "lower" O'Dell, then go southwest from there,
to the best of my knowledge

Thanks JohnL, at least I have some idea where it is. I bought a new map about a year ago and it doesn't show it.

Visit www.thevillages4rent.com and click on the All Villages Map link and you should be able to find Buttonwood. I believe it is listed as #61 on that map.

We just bought our home site on Buttonwood, and should move from VA in mid May. We bought an "At Ease" style cottage. Can't wait to start our new lives at The Villages. Sandra

South of 466 of course. Odell to Bailey Trail and west on St Charles. It is a little west of Pennecamp and it has the two golf courses, Red Fish Run and Tarpon Boil. The neighborhood rec center not yet completed looks like it may be kind of a log cabin, country style. Some of the street names sound Appalachian. Buttonwood is the newest neighborhood in TV.

Kfierle, thanks, copied the map you mentioned. Just got a contract on my home here in S Fla. with a closing date of May 21. Hope to get up there as soon as the buyers are approved to purchase our home. Still looking at used and new but like the idea of new, but the use homes have a much more mature landscape through out the neighborhood. Wondering how long it would take to get to LSL by car or golfcart.

Buttonwood is about a 10 minute golf cart ride to Lake Sumter Landing....:beer3:

jtdraig, Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Was hoping it wasn't too far from everything. 10 mins sounds great.

I recommend a pre-own in Lake County, NO bond (that will save you about $20,000)and mature landscape, and if you own a gas car you can go anywhere

not sure what the route would be to get to Lake Sumter Landing by golf cart in 10 minutes? Takes us about 10 minutes from Sabal Chase, which is right down Canal St., have to go thru the tunnel near the Courtyard Cabanas (lifestyle preview homes for now). Going to Sweetbay (grocery store) via Morse Blvd trail is a little quicker, but to navigate over to Market Square takes another few minutes.

Every village is close to something but I don't see how you get to LSL this quickly from Buttonwood. Buttonwood's probably great to get to Seabreeze and some of the newer executive courses, and will be a good location for the planned Brownwood town square (and probably a new championship course south of 466A if this is planned) off Buena Vista

How long does it take to get to places by golfcart or car.We just bought a lot in Buttonwood and from Harding Path it took us 18 minutes on a rental cart, which are real beasts, so I figure it's about 13 mins. with a real golf cart.:crap2:

I think upper Buttonwood would be reasonable to LSL. Up Bailey to BV to Stillwater and right up Canal to LSL.

The middle of Bailey to LSL is about 8 min. I did it umpteen times last May. So I figure another 6-8 down to Buttonwood on Bailey. Just my 2c.

Hi, We just bought a house in the Village of Buttonwood on Percival Way. Does anyone know about this village? Is there a social club where we could meet people that live in Buttonwood. We are from Pittsburgh and soon will be a Villager.

Yes there is a social club and Buttonwood when TV is finished will be in an ideal location between Lake Sumpter Landing and the New Brownwood town square. The social club has a meeting every month. You will get notice of when and where. We've been in Buttonwood one year now and by the way my roots are in McKeesport Pa. In my opinion Buttonwood is in a very desireable location. Let us know when you move in.

You are retired...10 mintues, 20 mintues. Its all good.... Mind set needs to slow down..retirement is a journey, not a race....We just bought a house in Buttonwood and like the quiet location.....we are on a very quiet street, our house is one away from a dead end.

Hope you decide to buy in Buttonwood. When when came down in July we fell in love. I love the location. We move in a couple of weeks.
I think you would be happy anywhere in TV. I just got an email from someone and they said if your not happy here it is your own fault. I know we will be very happy. If you would like to stop by in JUne please PM. I can't wait to have visitor's

I think that might be a little bit optamistic. I live in Poinciana which is closer to LSL than Buttonwood and it takes me about 11 minutes to get the LSL. I think from Buttonwood it probably would be closer to 20 minutes, probably a little bit less.

IT actually takes me 14 minutes @ 21 mph for Sumter and a few minutes longer to Colony. Again, it makes a difference the location of your house. I live near The Fishhawk Rec Center. If your house is closer to St. Charles, it could take a few minutes less. My friend lives in Poinciana which is just the other side of the St. Charles/ Bailey Trail intersection and is 1.7 miles away.

Gracie, I must have said something to offend, didn't mean to, so I removed it. But I quoted you Gracie when you mentioned that the new center in Buttonwood looking like a log cabin and the street named Appalachia, and I just watched Deliverence on TV and I mentioned something about Dueling Banjos, Sorry if I offended anyone.

Where is the best place to buy a golf cart? The villages colf cart store or outside the villages. We are looking for a 4 seater. We want the one that the back seat folds up and it has to be gas.

Surprised it takes that long Tom. From my house on Abbey (by way of Pennecamp) it is just under 4 miles to LSL. But I guess with stop and starts it might take 12-14 min. In any event Buttonwood isn't as far 'out there' as many think it is. The far western reaches of Buttonwood might be another mile or so.

Maybe you have one of those high speed carts. My cart goes 21 mph. I'll clock it today when I go into town. It's possible the time might be a little less. FYI- My time estimate was to the center of the square. It would be less if the clock stopped as soon as I hit ToJays and The Golf Cart Store on Canal.

Hi neighbors -- I live waaaaaay out on Buttonwood Run, have a cart that only goes about 21 mph and I timed it as about 12 minutes to LSL yesterday. Don't know where I was at the time I determined the 12 minutes were up, whether Toojays or the center of the square. But the ride is SO beautiful, it doesn't seem like that long anyway and I agree with others -- Buttonwood is a great place to live.

Russ is correct...again. I timed myself and it took 10 minutes and 45 seconds to go from the corner of Buttonwood Run and Triggerfish to canal -and the front of Tojays and The Golf Cart Store.

I started this post 3/20/10, over a year ago. Now living in TV a year, and just had a home inspection prior to my 1 year warranty expiring. He found lots of minor things and I recommend having it for piece of mind. The warranty dept was excellent and they had people coming here every day. By the way everyone that came, painters, dry wall, plummer, electrician etc was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Most of what the inspector found was so minor that we didn't notice it. Some of what he found we couldn't find, so I guess when they inspect they have to find something to make their fee sound justifiable. Those that are just buying will never regret it and I'm sure will wish they moved here sooner.
