What would you have if you could have anything in your perfect dream golf cart?

I would have a little more solid side structure (rollbars) in case of tipping. I would like easier to snap and zip curtains for wind relief.

Bigger locked storage?

How about you?

Wish I had investigated the yesteryear carts before we bought our Yamaha Gas with a Carburetor. I would have loaded it up 4 seats facing front, black on black but since I didn't investigate NOTHING then NOTHING will separate me from our Yamaha. A parachute would be a very nice addition. Just kidding, I'm the one everyone is aggravated at for doing the speed limit. Great question Mrs. Gracie.

Windshield wipers.

Not as simple as it perhaps sounds. The windshield on most of the golf carts are plexiglass-plastic. You can get safety glass replacements and then get a wiper motor.

Back-up camera!
That is something I would love. Can a back-up camera be installed after the fact?
I had a beeper installed on my Yesteryear cart to signify that the turn signal was still on.
But Gordon's Garage did an awful job so the beeper rarely beeps.
Of course I'm getting it fixed, but I'm not impressed with GG's workmanship.
And the line-ups at GG are huge, even with an appointment.

I've never seen a back-up camera on a golf cart. With golf clubs aboard, it's difficult to see.
I love the idea of a back-up camera, could it be adjusted to be higher?

New carts have them incorporated into their rear view mirror (the one inside the cart). The camera is in a newly designed "third brake light" on the rear of the cart. The new brake light also has white lights which serve as a backup indicator. I'm not sure if the Brownwood cart store has one on display, but as of a few weeks ago there was one at the LSL location.

1. An adjustable driver's seat. I'm short. My foot doesn't reach the pedal all the way so I have to "tiptoe" the gas and brake. Hubby is taller, so adding a block to the pedals would be a real pain in the butt because we'd have to add them and take them off every time "the other" of us is driving that day.
2. Safety glass windshield and wiper.
3. Factory installed seatbelts.
4. A hybrid system that includes electric, gas, and solar panels on the roof.
5. It must be some hideous gaudy shade of orange and purple. Maybe plaid. If I can't have a bend-over lady in my front yard, dammit, I'm gonna make my statement with my golf cart! (just kidding, though orange is a great color for a golf cart I think)
6. Rollover bars.
7. A fog horn.

Orange is chosen by many. And other bright colors. I am glad you are kidding about the bend over lady.

I remember how skeptical I was about this place after seeing how great it appeared to be after seeing it a couple of times. I questioned many of the things that you are questioning and I was met with hostility and negativity, just as you are.

That is because many people who live here all year around and enjoy it are just like many other Americans defending their home town.

There are so few really negative comments that many people will think anyone who is negative is a troll.

What is important to remember is this; we are a true melting pot of geographic culture here. There are people living here from all States and they bring with them their mini cultures and their upbringing and their social attitudes. We are predominantly traditional people and predominantly ...not rich. We are also predominantly law abiding and rule following but that does not mean we are not creative and very talented and interesting. Wait until you hear the musical talent and see the artistic talent we have here.

What I am trying to say is this. You will find friends here who look at things the way you do. They will be exited to join you in your new adventures. You will find friends here who do NOT look at things the way you do. Older people are very wise and have seen just about everything in the five decades plus that most of us are. Older people are often outspoken and often they are the silent and will just leave you alone if they don't like you. You can be either, whatever fits you comfortably. There are lots of us here. Choose your friends and choose your groups. We have tons of room right now in the high season in the classes I attend at Laurel Manor which are at this time a painting class, a craft class and a ceramics class. I try to avoid the more widely attended exercise classes. Not because they are crowded but because I just hate to exercise.

I will look for your orange golf cart.

Another idea for a really interesting golf cart: all white, with van Gogh's Starry Night painted on the hood. Vinework on the frame supports, so that it looks like the painting is beneath a grape arbor. I was going to do something like that with the VW Bus I used to have, back in the mid-80's but it needed too much bodywork and I sunk my extra funds into bondo and sheet metal instead of hiring an artist.

Thanks photo1902, that sounds very interesting.
My cart is a 2017 Yamaha Yesteryear cart that I purchased at LSL, and I wasn't offered an option of a back-up camera.
However I'm taking my cart into Gordon's Garage for servicing next week, so I'll ask about a back-up camera then.
I love TOTV -- lots of great information!

4 wheel brakes. Having only rear brakes on the Yahama is almost worthless on wet roads. Applying brakes pitches the weight of the cart on the front wheels and off the rear wheels where the only brakes are, very easy to skid.

I bought from Yamaha a backrest. This moves you forward about 3 to 4 inches to reach the gas and brake but also makes the steering wheel closer and more comfortable to you. It simply hooks over you're regular backrest. If a taller driver needs the cart then remove the back rest and put in the basket behind the seat.

Gracie, dear, LOL!

I have to have luxury seats. I’d like to have a nice sound system. SILENT self-cancelling turn signals.

If you are a fabricator, I have an idea for a secure area. This does not mean wallets, purses or other valuables.

I’d also like an onboard compass, thermometer, warming or cooling cup holders, cruise control.

That's an excellent alternative, I hadn't even thought of that. First choice still would be an adjustable seat, because with a backrest, it's also moving your thighs further off the edge of the seat and that might feel weird.

I agree with your comment about an adjustable driver's seat because I'm short and Fireboy is tall.
We have a block on the pedal and it's very easy to take off.
I've tried a backrest and for me, I find the block easier. But it's all personal preference.

We have an arrangement for over 50 years. Generally speaking, I don’t tell her what house she wants to buy and decorate (within our known budget) and she doesn’t tell me what car or cart to purchase. (Again, within our known budget) It works.

The dream cart is pretty simple for me. It must have turn signals like those on my car. I currently don’t need a backup camera as I can still turn to see what’s behind me but I want a gas cart that is just as quiet (not almost) as a battery one. And I want a secret super charge button that will allow me to pass those that pass me going 25-30mph. Zoom! Well, those that follow “all the rules” can rarely have any fun. Folks, have a nice day...

We have two carts, and I’d pretty much like a combination of both:

The range of the gas cart with the quiet of the electric cart. (Lithium batteries maybe?)

The reaction speed of the EZ-Go with the top speed of the Yamaha.

Half doors like the Yesteryear. Simple golf bag access like the EZGo.

A trunk the size of the Yesteryear. (Three bags of groceries!). More cup holders and glove compartments like the EZ-Go.

I saw an electric cart that looked like a car from the Jetson’s. It had the half doors and a hood with a trunk. However I couldn’t find one like it for sale anywhere.

I installed individual sliding seats from UltimategolfSeating.com. With UK Wildcats stitched into the headrests. I also installed a really loud horn(140 decibels) but not quite as loud as I had on my Ford dually. Also have the suicide knob on my steering wheel. Annnd I have the ultimate stereo with blue tooth and USB that my neighbor installed. He also installed some fantastic lights on my cart. My wife also says "I built my dream cart now live with it."

Maybe we could get a discount if we buy in volume. I think we may have a problemo on the Golf Cart (To The Hysterical Section) and the Morris (Morse) Bridge.

That is the sharpest Cart since I Spotter one that looked like the Munster Coach at Brownwood about 2 years ago.

I'm surprised no one said "Shock Absorbers" for their dream golf cart. I've found some of the MMP's in the area to be a bit rough going, and bouncy - the cushioned bucket seats help some, but there's not much shock absorption on the part of the cart. I asked three different places and they looked at me funny and said, "Golf carts don't come with shocks". It would be a bit more comfortable (and safer, too) if the wheels could move more when you hit a bump or a pothole! Just one thing - I'd also go for red with black trim, looking just like the Cruella de Ville car just for the wife! (Hey, it's her dream, who am I to question?)
