The Pat Leahy golf range behind Wal-Mart on #466 is now open. It has: very nice all grass tees; all new Nike balls; an excellent practice putting/chipping green; a practice sandtrap with fresh sand; and ... sunshine and 76 degrees .... at least today! A very nice facility with a good deal on the range balls.

A bucket of 45 balls is $4.00. There are also medium and large buckets available. Range ball cards can be bought and offer a savings of 10 to 25 %. They also have lesson programs. It's a nice relaxed spot .... even has chairs to just relax and watch.

Yes, one can ride over in a golf cart .... just as if you would to Wal-Mart.

It is directly behind the Wal-Mart building. If you drive out of the parking lot on the west end lot of the building it will be directly in front of you.

Is the putting and chipping greens free, using your own balls?

Is the putting and chipping greens free, using your own balls? When I use the putting green I use my own Pro V1s to maintain consistency . Not sure about others.

If you drive out of Wal-Mart on the west end you will be on 441/27, do you mean the east end that would be behind the building.

Poster said the range was behind The Walmart on 466 not 441. So I think it is west of the building which is the garden section. I will be there Monday to check it out.

The Leahy golf facility and range is behind the Wal-Mart that is on on Route #466 ...... toward #301.

While on our Lifestyle Preview last Summer, we noticed what appeared to be a driving range with some practice greens and bunkers on the South side of 466A near Morse Blvd. (if I remember correctly). It looked like it belonged to TV.
Does anyone know how the two facilities compare in terms of what is available and price, etc.?

You must use balls purchased but it is a very nice facility...I might add that small bucket is VERY generous, many more than 40 balls

I was at Leahy Golf over the weekend. Nice facility with a very generous small bucket for $4. My understanding is that you can use the putting green if you have purchased a bucket. You can use your own balls. They also offer services like regripping, etc. Nice addition to the golf scene.

Our Sunday morning ritual is breakfast and practice at Leahy's driving range. Yesterday, we drove by and it was closed, with a sign indicating Closed on Sundays for the summer.
