hanging curtain rods in the villages

I can’t seem to drill a hole deep enough to accept a hanger. Any ideas?

Before moving to TV, I could hang any object anyplace. Now, in TV, I hire a handy man. Even an impact drill doesn't help me.

Can you provide some additional info, are you hitting concrete, metal? I have had situations where I actually had to use 3 drill bits to get a hole of sufficient depth for my project. I can probably help you with advice, but I need more info.
