If anyone thinks they understand a lot of the hits from the Obama Health Bill let me add one more. IBM announced they would no longer report on how many of its employees are US vs Outsourced. Nothing IBM does is insignificant. You can rest assured there were a number of senior management meetings to discuss the announcement and the reason they will implement the practice. Back a few years ago France decided to "nationalize Companies". IBM had a European headquarter in La Defence in Paris and was on the list.
When told IBM would be nationalized they [IBM] had a large niumber of moving trucks outside of the offices in Paris and were ready to move out of Paris/France in one day. IBM was one of the very few companies not nationalized.
You can rest assure that if this new Health Care Plan hits the bottom line Companies will take action and if it makes sense to reduce the US numbers and move them to less costly countries to improve profits they will do it. I suspect that allegedly the latest move by IBM may be a first signal of things to come. Keep an eye on this?? :crap2:

Looks like this is just the beginning. A company somewhere near Boston recently announced they will be looking at cutbacks and possibly moving work overseas because of the tax on medical equipment, which I believe they build.

And the recent comments from AT&T are troubling to me because they pay for our retiree health coverage. They spell out three things they will look at to reduce their tax exposure under this health bill. Head count reductions, changes to current employee health care plans and changes/eliminations to retiree health care. Wonderful, can't wait to find out how much more we will be paying.

that the dismantling of America continues.

The really sad part is that the dismantling is not incidental or by accident....it is calculated and consistent with the Obama administration's plan to "change" America.

How many call for service on a computer, telephone, home appliance, etc and get someone on the line who you can't understand and is sitting in a run down office in Inida, or some other remote country?? Let me answer..A LOT..This has been a creeping problem and the government, including Clinton, Bush or Obama have avoided even coming near the serious issue. One reason is that companies would have to show some reductions in profits and increases in costs and the best way to get around it was to send the work somewhere where the labor is cheap..thus higher margins. Given Obama's recent hit to the bottom line through health care costs he has just open the flood gates for big moves out of the USA and to low cost countries. Why would a company pay the US high health costs when they can avoid them by going elsewhere. BUSINESS'S DO NOT HAVE A SOUL.THEY ARE A PROFIT MAKING BUSINESS.
The US work force is going to be hammerd pretty bad by this Obama move.
It has become too expensive to do business in the USA. You have illegal's doing a lot of the work, you have off loading to other countries and their labor markets and it will get a lot worse before it gets better.
Who is really hit by all of this..OUR CHILDREN..
As they say if we do nothing we deservie what we get..Bur unfortunately if we don't do something it is our children who get what we really deserve. :evil6:
