I had a very bad experience with Optical Outlet and just want everyone who goes there to examine their eye glasses very closely.

When I went to pick up my glasses the first time, one of the lens had a chip in it. They took it back and told me in 7-10 days I will get new pair. Went to pick up the new pair, after ten days, and guess what, now the other lens had a chip in it. By this time I was really upset. Again I was told they will get me a new lens in about 7-10 days. I told them this was not acceptable as I needed the new glasses. Was then told I would have the new glasses in three days and if they were not there in three days I could get my money back. Went back now a third time, and guess what, there was a chip in one lens. I couldn't believe it. Three pair of glasses and each one had a chip. I told them I want my money back and they will never see me again. I got my money back and went to Sam's.

I'd like to recommend Peepers in Colony plaza for eyeglasses. Actually you can buy your frames anywhere, but I'd get the lenses made at Peepers. I've never had such good service, and they seem very meticulous about the manufacture of the lenses. I've had them put lenses in two different sets of old frames, and they've done a marvelous job. One pair of glasses had lenses in that never fit - I had taken them back to a discount place 2 or 3 times and they never got it right. Peepers got it right the first time. They do eye exams as well, although I didn't try them for that.

I use zennioptical.com an online optical. Bought 3 pairs of glasses for me in last couple of years. My husband uses them as do many friends and family. Progressive lenses are usually under or about $100.

DO NOT GO TO SAMS CLUB - The lab they use is awful. I should have known the day I went in a woman next to me said that her husband had been back 6, six, VI, yes that many times because they couldn't get his script right. I had an eye exam and then ordered 2 pr of glasses. Lineless bi-focals in clear & polarized sunglasses. Wrong script in both, improper installation in sunglass frames, wrong script again, wrong script again, glasses sent to Ocala to wrong Sams Club, wrong script again, you could see daylight between the lenses and frames (gap), wrong script.... Of course I'd paid for the services in advance. The head optician re-examined my eyes - yes he corrected the script "supposedly" and my glasses were re-ordered AGAIN. Clear pr sent to wrong store, sun glasses arrived. I told them to call me when they both arrive. Week later I received a call that they were in. They screwed up STILL and I received 2 pr of clear glasses with my 1 pr of polarized glasses. I was refunded totally and given the glasses for free. I did not ask for a refund.

I had my eyes examined at Sams Club in Florence KY w/o issue. I could not believe the problems with TV club. I was determined to see this problem thru. I am a regular customer of Sams Club so making trips to the store didn't matter. And if I said that my glasses that I received FREE were flawless, I'd be joking. They were never correct even after ALL the "corrections". I was just fed up with the whole d a m n thing.

Drove to Ocala and got my wife glasses at Lens Crafters. Cost a little more, enjoyed dinner while we waited, walked around Paddock Mall, "Life Is Good"!

I've had problems with Sam's also, only the location was Hypoluxo, not TV. The money saved was not worth the hassle. My current glasses came from Lens Crafters and they've been great.

I second the motion on Peepers, in Colony Plaza! Competent, fast, reasonable.

My wife recently used Peepers as well, no problems and the service was great.

complete in their service and products. They also do not use polycabornite lenses, which are not as clear as the lens material they use (places like Lencrafters and other one hour turn around cheapies use the lessor lense material).

Just a follow up on going to Sam's for glasses. Picked up my glasses today and they were just fine. Told them I needed my glasses in three days and they were there just as promised.

There is another thread about Peepers. It has some favorable reviews including mine.
