Can you all hear the prison PA sometimes? I'm wondering because the homes are built nice (golf cart garages) but if PA thing is real I am happy at the place I am.

 I'm thinking someone is going to say YES and someone is going to say NO. Then what do you do?
We never bought a house we didn't spend some time near.... looking and listening. I would drag my fanny to Fenney and see for myself.

There use to be a person on this site that had a big beautiful house up in the Marion Co. section and the train noise drove him out. I always wondered how much research he did before buying. :ho:

Agree, I live in Fenney and won't bother answering your question, it's been on here enough already. Come down and see for yourself. They are selling 6 or 7 homes a day down here and are adding another 350 to Fenney itself so you still have time to buy one if you don't hear the PA system, if you do hear it move on up to Marsh Landing.

Maybe not as bad as my drinking neighbors and their barking dogs.

Some do, some don't. Depends on the location. Due diligence. Do it.

I live in Fenney so really curious as to what location(s)?

Read up on it. People have posted here and the other site that they hear it. I didn't bother asking them for their address.

I'm curious as to what evidence the online news has to back up their claim that Fenney complaints are "frequent" regarding prison PA announcements. This was a caption under a recent article about Coleman growth.

Link to thread/post by Fenney resident would suffice.

I can hear the 5pm horn in Brownwood.

It wasn't as much a yes or no question more than a bothersome question since when you buy a house you usually (usually) do not sleep overnight and I doubt it is part of the sales pitch. And yes, sure there are other threads on website but why do all the legwork when others seem sure to share here in America's Friendliest Hometown.

We've lived in McClure for just under three months and spend a lot of time on the lanai. I've heard the PA three times while outside, always very faintly and always briefly. The wind is louder than the PA. It's a complete non-issue with me.

Lived in Fenney since May of last year. Have yet to hear a PA. Have felt vibrations from the mine blasting about 4 times total in that time and all were less than 1 second. Very happy here.

Evidence? Don't need evidence!
The online news site relies on advertising to keep going.
Lots of site traffic can be used to impress prospective advertisers.
Confrontational Letters, Padded headlines, with a little stretching of the facts generate more 'clicks'.

A recent example.
New Yorker receives written warning after cat caught running loose at Water Oak

That headline generates more clicks than;

Stray cat found.

You're right. And a recent article in the online news called Delmar a dangerous street in The Villages, when in fact a driver ran a stop sign at Rio Grande. I think one or many at the online news have some type of ax to grind with the developer, the newspaper, or The Villages in general. I haven't seen very many resident complaints about prison noise, blasting or much of anything else. Fenney seems to make alot of Villagers happy.

Is it a sales tool and false or the truth?

Examples of either please.

All I see lately is angry. Snowbirds, roundabouts, noise... where is the good to balance it and even go over the top.
A pattern seems to be developing...…………...
