Pest and Landscape

I have looked through various threads on the subject and did not quite find what I was looking for.

I am interested in TOTV's experiences with pest and landscape services in TV from a cost perspective. I am away for 3-4 months in the summer and am happy to outsource this service for now.

Our yard is like many, with a standard front yard and 12'ish feet to each border all around the rest....

When we bought three years ago we hired Massey for pest and landscape. Specifically they provide:


Lawn fertilization and weed control with a yearly aeration, Plant and shrub fertilization $366
Pest Control inside and outside $247
Subterranean Termite Protection $112


I am happy with Massey in general, very professional, always come if we have an issue. It is renewal time and for three services the yearly cost is about $725.

This "seems" like alot of money to me and I am interested if others have a service they are happy with and would be willing to share the costs. I am not looking to change for the sake of change, but just making sure I am not overpaying by 15% or more....

Met one of his employees yesterday and he spoke very highly of the owner, John Marko. Usually, if the employees are impressed the owner is doing something right. Apparently he's been in the area about 38 years.

• I just hired Joh's Services, John Marko - owner to handle all the things you mentioned for myself and my neighbor. He is a small business out of Lady Lake but has been doing landscaping and related services for 39 years. Call him for a quote at 352-409-6087. He's a hands-on gardener who's staff really like working for him. I've met with him several times and am impressed with his work and quality. Nice man!
• I HIGHLY recommend, Jeff from Sunscape, 352-223-7850. He not only is terrific but also cares about his customers AFTER the sale. Not many do that anymore once they have your money.......
• I'll second the recommendation for Jeff at Sunscape. Just had a bunch of work done by him, all really nice and great follow-up.
• Once again I used SUNSCAPE LAWN & LANDSCAPING to give my lanai a little more privacy. Jeff Revis and his crew did an awesome job on enhansing my lanai. The professionalism and workmanship is just the best. You will not find any better - and I'm fussy. His number is: 352-223-7850

Had a really bad experience with JB (Jeff Boyd) Enterprises. He was recommended to us by 2 sources in TV's for doing our mowing, trimming, weeding, shrub trimming and all chemical applications on the lawn and shrubs. We are snowbirds, came down and after pre-paying (big mistake) Mr Boyd the work was not accomplished as promised, we called him 6 times during the past 2 1/2 weeks and he never returned any of our calls - a real dissappointment. Furthermore after traveling to his home to meet him face/face he refused at first to return any of our money and only after MUCH DISCUSSION did he return 1/2 our money with reluctance. Hope this helps somebody from making the same mistake we made.
