What Motorhome insurance to buy

I ordered a new B+ motorhome due to arrive in May or June. Today I have searched several hours online checking into a few insurance companies.i was amazed of page after page of dismayed customers.
Most said they had been with company A, B, or C for years. They thought they were good until time came to make a claim or had to have road side assistance.
Some were brought in by low prices. Then the next year rates were increased by 25% or more.
I’m getting a little worried and would like to know who you have RV insurance with. Whether you are satisfied or not.

I have The Villages Travelers Insurance and they don’t insure motorhomes or RV.

Try the Progressive website. It seems to me, tho, that every year my premiums went up with them.

USAA sent me to them since they don’t do RV’s or motorcycles, either.

I did an on line quote with them today. They seem to be having their problems also. When I googled their ratings several pages came up.
I have noticed that Florida and Texas rates are higher than most other areas.

I used progressive for my Class A from 2003-2018 when I sold it. Had one claim early on for an awning damaged by microburst out west...they were great. They began offering diminishing deductibles. Mine started at $500. 5 Years later it was $0. When I complained about rates going up, they mentioned I could raise my deductible to $5000 and it would save quite a bit of money AND my deductible would remain at $0 until I had a claim. After the claim it would go back up to $5000 at which time I could again pay for $500 if I preferred....worked great.

Also reference Progressive, in 2003, they offered to insure my Class A for what I paid for it as it was new. And for a slight increase on premiums, would continue to insure it for the original value instead of the depreciated value. Finally, if you store it for extended periods, you can ask them to drop the liability to Florida minimums to save a few bucks -- just don't forget to raise them to what you're comfortable with before you take a trip.

Enjoy! We full-timed for 3 years before buying here in TV and had a blast! Hands down, best way to travel, especially if you have dogs!!

Check out AARP Hartford insurance for your car and MH. We have been with them for a long time and they have excellent customer support and service! Prices are good too.
