Went to Phillips buick gmc for oil change last week.without telling me they installed a generic oil filter in stead of a/c delco which is gm spec.e mailed them but got no answer. Beware if you go there for service.

Same here, developed leak which they corrected. Service writer told me they used a cheap filter and should of used the brand name one.

It's pretty bad when a dealership uses cheap generic oil filters.
Makes you wonder about the quality of the oil they are using.

The brand filter they are using could be better than a Delco . Check the brand against others online. Lots of tests to determine the better filter are done regularly. If it turns out to be inferior then I would also be afraid of the oil they are using. I'm sure it's bulk and may not be the weight recommended for your vehicle. I would check before I decided to go elsewhere.

I refuse to have my car serviced ANYWHERE that tries to tell me they have the premium oil in their bulk pump unit.
Either they have the individual cans/bottles or I bring my own.
And yes I am one that stands at the window watching what they do to the car (or not).
As for Phillips Buick, that is not the way Larry Phillips runs the place. I would seek out the GM and complain.

I would ask what is going on before I make a blanket statement !!!
