I have it from a friend I trust that bobcat has been spotted in the Villages of Lynnhaven and Ashland. The Lynnhaven siting was in the daytime.

Having said that, I would never leave my dogs outside without being leashed and supervised.

Could've been a stray domestic cat that looked like a bobcat. Tell your friend that whoever claimed they saw one, should take a picture next time with their cell phone camera and post it! Bobcats are awesome critters but if they're coming close to "civilization" something could be wrong.

A bobcat did take three cats off of homes in Lynnhaven and Ashland a number of years back. There were tracks outside one of the homes and portions of one of these missing pets near one of the homes with the lost cats. This was around 2015.

The bobcat ripped open the lanais' screens.

These two bobcats were hanging out on the fence post in our back yard outside of our birdcage. No worries, they were small and very pretty and were no threat to anyone, unless they were irresponsible enough to leave a small dog or cat outside unattended. One of them snagged a small rabbit and they had an excellent meal together. Very cool to watch.

They are beautiful animals from the picture. I did not know they hung out in pairs? And these two look kind of small.

We have red-tailed hawks, eagles on occasion, enormous ravens (think crows the size of golden eagles), seagulls, turtle doves, some amazing crimson colored bird, a couple of stray orange parakeets, skunks, squirrels, chipmunks, moles, garden snakes, rabbits, and we have a few irresponsible neighbors who choose to force their domestic cats to spend most of their lives outside, who wander into our yard. We've also had turtles and frogs. But down the street there was a bear siting a few years back, and on the other side of town there are often deer that hang out in the woods behind the houses. A friend who lives a mile up the road in my town gets bobcats. Adding: turkey vultures. Can't forget those ugly critters. They're the clean-up crew and a very important part of our ecosystem, but man they're ugly to look at up close.

There are bobcats, coyotes and wild boar that have been seen here.

We had a medium size bobcat in the fall that walked from the pond, down the side of our house And cross the street without looking. He was much quicker than the gator that comes up from the pond in September

No. It does not. I will try to get someone from that neighborhood to take a look at this thread. Two of the houses with cats taken were two doors from one another and close to Belmont Golf Course.

Not sure what your problem is.

Beautiful creatures, with very large territories.

Talking of rare sightings.
I saw someone give a direction signal when leaving a roundabout on Morse last week.
The were no bobcats in the vicinity as far as I could see.:icon_wink:

Those look more like feral cats. Bobcats don't sit on fences, and you rarely will see them in daylight.

Right, Bobcats hunt at night, and they are in TV.
